Huge blow for the Roosters if it is long term for Trhingy...

Port lead North by about 6 goals early into the 3rd term...

Half time at City Mazda. I haven't said this for years, but it's a fast, free-flowing trial game, with West leading 8.5 to 8.1.

West led 5 goals to 2, then Glenelg kicked 5 straight, before West dominated the last ten minutes.

Both sides would have a lot to like, I'd say.

Glenelg playing 23, West 22, but MacReadie off for the rest of the game, precautionary.

Glenelg have a giant (new?) ruckman, Jones, Johncock looks speedy off half back.

I think he rocked up to training the week of the Central trial and played against the Dogs out at Elizabeth...

Have since heard it is a very, very bad dislocated ankle. Off to hospital and early prognosis is anywhere from 8-12 weeks out.

Glenelg kicked the last few goals to win 16.4 to West 12.14.

Good trial by both sides, the Bays 6 on the bench to West's 3 told in the end after West looked like winning.

West had 50 more possessions, but Glenelg's accurate kicking was excellent.

halfway through the second quarter Adelaide were 3 goals in front. The Panthers looked very good in the second half and looked the fitter side...
Very pleased with Brett Eddys game, should give him some confidence going into next week.
I thought South were very good in the midfield and beat Adelaide on the inside releasing their outside runners. Quite a few players who were lost in the previous regime have grown new confidence under Gotch.
Early days I know but , Im pleased with what Im seeing.
Mr Trigg made a statement prior to the vote that the Adelaide team would draw 4000 to their game every week .
Id be pretty sure that South fans would have outnumbered their AFC rivals tonight at Noarlunga.

a weekly improvement over the last 3 weeks, the way we finished tonight will give the players belief that they are fitter than other teams (whether it's true or not), while both teams had first pick players out for various reasons, both teams had a decent crack at it & suggest both teams will be happy enough with what they saw.....McNeil seems to have improved markedly on what i saw last year.......players definitely working hard for each other (so far) this year which we didn't see much of over the last season or so............bring it on from next week, for us it is Sturt on Friday night.........

r&b, can i suggest that before your first league game at Richmond & i presume other grounds that your exercise bike be moved to behind the fence or in the players race, i can see an accident happening with players going for a wide ball & crashing into it as almost happened tonight, it could cause damage....still not as bad as the wall at Norwood though !!!!!

Yes, bayman, I noticed that about the bike and I agree.

I think the fitness thing might have been because of the difference in the benches, with Glenelg playing 2 or 3 more players and West playing 22, but being down to 21 most of the game.

Both sides have players out, but West currently have a huge unavailability list. The Reserves had to play a lot of kids last night and the League were missing, for various reasons, Schmidt, Caire, Hayes, Still, Fielke, Bricknell, Fielke, Anderson, Hardy, Webb, Green and others.

I was happy with our game and thought Glenelg were pretty good and looked faster and better than last year.

at a guess 800-900...not often South fans outnumber the opposition.
Nice of the Strathalbyn FC to pull out of the curtain raiser against our reserves 2 days before the game. Not the first time either apparently.South fielded 27 players in the league game to give a extra players a run.
Good to See South giving their zone clubs an opportunity, pity they dont appreciate it.
