disgraceful & disrespectful
it is a state jumper that is earned, not a heritage club jumper
i smell the odour of narcissism with the Crows these days & a lot more narcissism than Port ever ever had

You just have to shake your head and wonder.
Surely not. They have absolutely no claim on that jumper.
And when the sanfl plays a State game what sort of message is it sending?
I thought they had already adopted other designs that are primarily white?

A complete and utter disgrace IMO. I'm siding with Port on this one.

Accept they were born from a court room ( let's not debate why/who/how ) and that since 1990 they have been the Adelaide Football Club in the AFL, representing the people who support the club and that club alone.
Not the state of South Australia nor, for certain, all South Australians.

Have i heard right? Crows members will have their names printed on the back of the jumper. If so, then it becomes more of a joke. I'm not a Port Power supporter by all means but i'm siding with them on this one.

So disappointing on so many levels but typical of the AFL, it's franchises and the SANFL Directors/Commissioners. The real problem for me is that the SANFL representatives don't see a problem with the concept!

Re: So what do we think about this?
And the sanfl would surely have to endorse use of the jumper before the Crows could do it.
Putting the AFL logo on the sacrosanct sanfl state jumper is a travesty in its own right. The only logo on it should be the sanfl logo. IE the big "S".
Agree Wongdo, that the sanfl people who have given the green cannot see the inapproriateness of it all is yet another major cause for concern.
If the afl allows this too, then why can't Port wear the prison bars in the afl full time?
If they can't get their heads around this, then we should ask the AFL to imagine Carlton running around against Collingwood in a Big "V" jumper at the MCG.
Would that convince them perhaps?

Totally against the idea. Seems the Crows board and not-so-Smart are more concerned with scoring points off Port the respecting the 100+ years of SANFL history that underpinned the Crows formation. The state jumper should be preserved for the best state players, not a quick marketing opportunity to sell a few jumpers.

Personally I don't care if they play in their underwear. I'm a cynic, and this has all the marks of an intentionally created controversy, to publicize the game and boost crowd numbers. $$$$$$$

Cheap PR stunt to get them back in the headlines and inject $$ via the sale of controversial guernseys. To borrow some of Ken Hinkleys great work I hope "they get what they deserve".

Re: So what do we think about this?
The SANFL hierarchy should all hang there heads in shame for allowing this.
This jumper represents the SANFL at state level not for an AFL club to wear at a home and away game. This jumper has been worn by the most talented players to come out of the SANFL and they earned that right not just been given it.
Also, to intend to then sell this jumper after they play just sinks to a new low.
STATE GEURNSEY'S ARE NOT FOR SALE--never have been and never should be but apparently the Adelaide football club seems to think they have the right.
I don't care that they wear the state colours as do Carlton wear the state colours of Victoria in the AFL.
To all posters on this site EMAIL your club and let them know of your opposition to this.

Well done to Olson and co. for standing up to the AFL
From ten news :understands the SANFL is set to revoke the permission it granted, for the Crows to wear the State guernsey during the Adelaide Oval showdown. The story on NEXT

only because of the huge public opinion on it
why was Leigh Whicker on 3AW & yet as far as i know there has been no person from the league on Adelaide radio ?
Thiele, you say John Olsen & co stood up to the AFL, i think you'll find the AFL gave approval if the SANFL did & we know how Mr Olsen sold the state down the river, he even sold/gave away the tab which makes money every day of the year bar for 2 days & that is why our bills are way way too high, my initial thought when i heard this was he's now sold the SANFL down the river
sanity prevails but there needs a broom to be swept through Adelaide & the SANFL, too many ego maniacs at both places

Never a truer statement.
What they lack in administrative skills they make up for as puppateers.
And the pantomime that was played out between Cornes, Jars and KG on the 7 news, just shows how far things have sunk. For such high profile (in SA anyway) former icons of the game to act out a ridiculous sea-sawing argument on television just to push ratings, just shows why we are held in contempt in Victoria.
To say the Crows grew out of 10 sanfl teams and that fact allows them the right to use the state jumper is a serious misunderstanding of football traditions.
Would the Qld Origin Rugby jumper be lent out to the Broncos? Hell would freeze over before that would happen.
Furthermore, if the Crows have a "right" to use the state jumper then so too do Port, Sturt and every other sanfl club.
I am afraid our "trusted" leaders of football in this state are taking a long handle to our football traditions and burying them amongst piles of excrement.
I think the football administration adage at present is "Do what you want until somebody forbids it"
