Sturt - oops!!!
back in August, Sturt sent out an email, basically accusing an individual (a long-time Sturt supporter) of 'removing' memorabilia from its premises.
The individual was identified by his forum name, I think. he strenuously denied the accusations and friends of his supplied some persuasive evidence that the memorabilia (which was for sale on EBay) was his.
Now the Sturt FC have issued a public apology, as they have found the missing memorabilia.
They will be very lucky to escape with a public apology only.
Given my club's recent events, I make no other judgement, of course.

Drawing a pretty long bow comparing this with Milner Rd events.

I've been waiting for this to emerge on the general forums. I've known about the apology for a week or so now, and there's no doubt the incident was a serious error of judgement at the time. I'm choosing my words carefully here, because the club president is trying to minimize the damage, and I don't want to say anything that will make his task harder than it already is. I agree with redandblack, that it could have nasty repercussions. Unfortunately it occurred during a period when communications within the club had broken down, for various reasons. Actions were taken in haste, as sometimes happens when people are working under conditions of extreme stress. It would be too easy to lay blame for the mistake on individuals and I'm not going to do that. A thorough review, by the board, of the Sturt Football Club's day to day administration is currently underway, to ensure that such mistakes don't happen again. Meanwhile we'll just have to deal with any fallout, if and when it occurs.

Yes it wasn't a good look and I think with their time over again, the board would do it differently.

Gee Booney, I specifically said I wasn't in a position to make a judgement given Westies less than brilliant efforts lately.
I hadn't even got the bow out, let alone draw it back

What the....?
How has this thread become about West's issues?
Are they to blame for Sturt's poor judgement?

At least someone from the Sturt FC is willing to admit they have made a mistake.
Unlike some other clubs.

Oh, Rossco, your attempts at trolling are a bit lame, mate.
You need something much more subtle than that. That one has all the subtlety of a sledgehammer, just like your last effort. I think the real Rossco wouldn't be happy with it either.
At least your last effort tried to suggest I was involved with alleged criminal activity, so this one has a tinge of defeatism about it.
I look forward to your future contributions and the whole site can award you marks out of 10 for any needed improvement.
