what happened at Unley today ?

i parked at the Cremorne Hotel & walked to the oval, as i turned the corner at the oval there were people all over the place & after asking what was going on i got told ''that this game could be off'', ''there is a drill going on'' ''not sure but we've been kicked out''..........not knowing what was to eventuate i went back to the car & drove to Noarlunga, glad i did as i enjoyed the footy as it was a good spectacle there today

I posted this in the LIVE scores thread, Bayman...

Bizzare circumastances in the 1st term of the ressies clash with the fire alarm going off (again) with the older wooden grandstand having to be evacuated, including champion data, coaches and officials...

The quarter was ended about 17 or 18 minutes in and the term called to a halt...

The fire brigade got here pretty swiftly (one of the fire fighters was former Glenelg and Norwood forward James West) and establised that the compresser used to pump balls up had exploded and set the alarm off...

All good now and the game has resumed, although it is half time now...

the quarter was called off at the 24minute mark .and the eagles lost momentum and the wind
funny that !!!

Was weird watching the people exit the GS in an orderly fashion.
3 firetrucks was that $500 a piece or just the $500 callout fee
Or did they not get charged

A sturt official told me it was a $6000 fee for the Fire Brigade to come out?
Oops, 1 too many zeros there - I do remember the guy saying $600, not $6000 like I posted...
