Yeah we have as a club, now have to gain approval from the amateur league for our away jumpers (originally had approval for the red but have since opted for the grey)

I noticed on my travels along North East Road recently that the surface at Gaza's oval has been grassed and looks a picture. There is a section in the middle that is cordoned off and I am assuming this is a cricket pitch.

Can anyone shed any light on the issue surrounding Kilburn being apparently stripped of all of their premiership points to this point of the season?

Something about them going over their point allocation but not sure of the specifics. I know there are a few other clubs being investigated as well.

Had a very interesting discussion with someone on the weekend who was present at the SAAFL Under 23 v Tasmania match and was also present at this particular incident:

http://www.adelaidenow.com.au/sport/afl/amateur-footballers-guilty-over-brawl/story-fn526193-1226395564076

Not a great look for the league overall.

SAAFL Div 2 looks like it's going to have a terrific end to the season with three local rivals contesting the remaining finals.

Preliminary Final - Port District vs SMOSH West Lakes

Grand Final - Portland Thunder vs Winner PF

Very messy and nasty situation emerging in SAAFL ranks involving the president and at least one board member:

http://www.adelaidenow.com.au/sport/afl/saafl-president-gino-capogreco-says-a-push-to-oust-him-is-an-orchestrated-political-campaign/story-fnii00qw-1226738543511

Some of the mail from this story on all fronts should be very concerning for the SAAFL

Or any general comments?

Perhaps they may have to apply the SAAFL Tribunal Penalty rules to the Board! Very Happy

How many games for a "chesting" and how many for a "closed fist wave"?

All jest aside, not a good look for their governance.
You would think there would be several witnesses, if the physical threat allegation was true.

gotta ask why the majority of the board have been so silent on all of this, and dont look to be supporting their president at a time like this, talk about making feelings clear with silence. like chambo says, must be more witnesses than just the people named in the press.

what a debacle.

Discussion looks to be largely censored in certain places, strangely. Early word is president will survive vote tonight.

Motion easily defeated, interesting to see how some of those involved in the attempted coup survive their positions,

they tell me there is a ''grudge'' match this weekend between Flinders Park & Golden Grove.....apparently when they last met Golden Grove won by about 10 goals & had the points stripped off them because they played 2 players that played the night before for Adelaide in the SANFL, namely Castree & Stent, apparently the crows told them they were right to play as there is nothing in the rules stopping them from playing (not that it is a crows decision, must be a SAAFL decision), the lawyers of Golden Grove agreed that they were allowed to play by the rules of the league but the SAAFL in their wisdom decided it was wrong the day after the match..................i ask this if a player was a fireman, ambulance officer or cop & played a match for their respective occupation as we know happens, would those players & their clubs be penalised as well ?

out of curiosity, does anyone know whether Amateur league players have insurance for injuries to cover loss of income when injured & can't go to work because of any injuries ?

member clubs have insurance to cover medical expenses but i'm not sure if it covers loss of income.

God forbid kids who play sport nowdays actually take some responsibility for themselves and purchase their own though Rolling Eyes

Doesn't cover you fully though. they seem to find loopholes which leave you well and truly out of pocket.
