State Squad
Some very strange selections?
It seems one or two (or more) have been selected
on old reputations.
It was reported thar Daniel Caire was 'stiff'. Being a B&F winner and runner-up to Steven Morris, being in great form, having pace and rebound and being the best small defender in the comp isn't enough to get him in front of Robert Shirley.

Re: State Squad
Players can still force their way in or out of the squad, should form warrant it. Agreed that some players are lucky and others unlucky to not be named in the initial squad. Will be interesting to see how the final 22 line up.

Yeah, Flaggy mentioned it 2 posts above mate.

Would think either Paul Thomas or one of the All(e/a)n's would now be appointed skipper of the side.

I think Thomas or Ty Allen would be my choice for Sate captain.
Was just letting them know that the point was already made. Not sure what you are on about in regards to breking the news, it was already there so no issue, just simply an observation and comment.
Paul Thomas for mine for State Captaincy BTW...

Re: State Squad
any idea what the price of admission will be for the state game ? hopefully to get a good crowd at the game the league(s) will make it a cheap day out for families etc, perhaps $5.00 an adult, or say $10.00 with a budget thrown in, because if we can get say 8,000+ there it'll be better than say 2,500 or so die hards & look better on tv as well & also will show that people are interested in State footy & the respective leagues

Re: State Squad
Ferguson has been in very ordinary form. That leaves, by my reckoning, Georgiou, Grieger and Rudolph as the only key defenders in the squad, which wouldn't have the opposition forwards quaking in their boots I wouldn't think.

Players can still be added to the squad, should form permit. Perhaps the likes of a Kory Beard or Yves Sibenaler could come into the squad still?

I know players can be added BP but I still think it's surprising.

Can't see the SANFL making it that cheap unfortunately, but I would like to see all club season ticket holders (and maybe AAMI Stadium members) get free admission to the game.

Yeah I didn't count Zorzi as I assumed he plays in the midfield nowadays, but I've seen him play very well at full back. Wouldn't want to stand someone really tall though.

Love to see it under lights at Richmond or Glenelg rather than at AAMI. Would be a better spectacle and atmosphere

Has played in defence this season. Last week he filled the role of Kieren McGuinness and was in sensational touch.

I realise that but there seems to be a better atmosphere under lights.

Bring in Hartlett for Ferg. That would have the opposition scared.
