I like the draw. Looking forward particularly to the first couple of months with plenty on offer. More Friday nights & Saturday arvos, plus two less byes across the season and far less Sunday matches. And good to see a Saturday night match.

Almost every weekend there's matches in at least two different time slots making it good for neutrals as well.

In the past, on accasions , we have had the 2 Grand Final teams playing during the week and backing up a few days later
Giving them a bye the round after seems a fairer way of programming the draw

Im tipping Norwood will win the most Friday night games this season

Like the draw couple of Friday nights, two Sunday games and mostly Saturday which is good

this from a quick glance, i don't know what happens behind the scenes but surely South would be a bit miffed at losing Good Friday & Glenelg the June long weekend game at home...as i said i don't know what is said behind the scenes, so i'll assume perhaps North have asked for it on a rotating basis which would be a good thing for both clubs.....2 home games at the start of the season for Glenelg & Norwood so both would want to be 1 & 1 at worst....will have a more thorough look tomorrow

I think it is a better draw than last year.
I couldn't work out why they regularly only had 4 games or less a week.

Saturdays are a better fit for the sanfl. Happy there are predominantly Saturday games.

I am interested for those clubs who have lights whether there are enough night games to return on the investment.

Central again have no games under lights . The lights are costly to run and I would have thought some of these night games actually hurt clubs. West V South is a great example of that.

I think losing our Good Friday game is a disgrace.

Our club fought hard to keep that day. It brings some good coin into the club.

Did they want it again ? I assume so but have no idea what was happening behind the scenes. I think the SANFL should keep traditional games . South should be the Good Friday games , Glenelg should have the Queens holiday game and Norwood should host Sturt in the season opener . That game got good crowds when they did that a couple of times in a row but they stopped it. I also like the Anzac Day clash at a suburban oval and that now should be the club winning the the GF to host it.

Between all clubs there's probably a lot of requests made (Lee?) so hard to know which changes relate to those.

Waddayamean I've often thought the same about Norwood v Sturt round 1.

Agreed Scrunch , I recall over 10,000 each time .

With South losing Good Friday, but getting a country game on Easter weekend, I wonder if that was a trade off - gain the country game at the expense of the Good Friday game.

From Centrals point of view, bar Good Friday, every other game is a Saturday afternoon game. Reckon they would be quite pleased with that.

Don't know but I am sure it's was also the Crows "community engagement building with our fans in the regional areas" cliche too.

I went to an Encounter Bay match a few years ago, I'm pretty sure it was South v Sturt but will stand corrected, it was also the match where Greg Anderson left his notes etc in the toilet....... anyway for anyone thinking of going I suggest leave early because if your not on the fence you can't see a thing, well you could if you are over 7 foot tall!!!

South played West at Encounter Bay some years ago.

As for the draw, each club puts in 2 or 3 'requests' beforehand and the SANFL tries to accommodate those wherever possible.
