Re: Betting Scandal or OVer reaction?
This all to do with whether David King had prior knowledge of the Rising Star winner in the AFL
This was the second paragraph from the Advertiser 20/2
* The investigation was triggered after a tip off by a leading betting agency last September*
Should we have sympathy for Bookmakers who complain of 'alleged' foul play in these instances ?
Bookmakers that bet on events , with results that are 'eventually' known , by 1+ people are asking for trouble
Sportsbet is currently betting on the next leader of the Liberal Party when Tony Abbott is replaced
$1-30 Mal Turnbull
$3-50 Julie Bishop
$8-00 Scott Morrison
$16 Andrew Robb
$17 Chris Pyne
$19 Greg Hunt
$21 Joe Hockey
$21 Peter Dutton
$34 Tony Smith
$34 Mal Brough
$51 Peter Costello
$101 Bronwyn Bishop
$251 Sophie Mirabella
After what happened with King, this Bookie continues to bet on an outcome that may well be known within the Liberal party
If anyone has privvy info about the next PM, and beats the bookie, should that bookie feel aggrieved?

Re: Betting Scandal or OVer reaction?
This is purely hypothetical for discussion purposes
Bookie bets most possessions in a football game
The betting is
$1-90 Bayman
$1-95 Lee
Both are speedy wingmen , the bet could go either way
We have Booney who is a trainer at Baymans team
He knows that Bayman twisted his knee the night before after leaping in the air after getting the Quadrella at the trots
The intention in this game is to play Bayman for about 60% or less of match time
Bayman is to now start the game on the interchange
So with this 'privvy' info , Booney texts his mate Testy
Testy , rings up the corporate bookie and places a bet on Lee to have most possessions
End result
Lee has more possessions
Bayman only played half the game on the field
Booney and Testy, 2 well knowns are implicated in a scandal of sorts
Should we feel sorry for the Bookie ?
Or should the bookie not bet on risky outcomes?
