Inspirational music in sport
This could be posted in the other sports section but it's the song that matters.
Has there ever been one song or music that has been more inspirational in sport than Liverpool's ...'You'll Never Walk Alone'?
The singing with over 95,000 spectators starts at about 2.10 of the video. It makes the hair on the back of your neck stand up. I would have loved to have been there.
I'd like to know if there is any other sport or sporting club that has something better than this.
Liverpool v Melbourne Victory, Wednesday 24 July 2013 at the MCG. What a massive support Liverpool has world wide.

Re: Inspirational music in sport
In short no.
YNWA is the best football song of all time.
On one of Pink Floyd's albums in the early 70s they were playing live, presumably at Anfield. Toward the end of the song, the crowd starting singing YNWA as the song started fade. At the end there was the obligatory "Liverpool (clap clap clap) Liverpool (clap clap clap)".
I guess the band must have liked it enough to keep it on the record.
Sensational stuff!

I can't think of any other song that is treated so passionately by a club and its supporters than this one anywhere on this planet.
There are a couple that I can recall that were huge successes for the advertising of two different codes in this country. "Simply The Best" by Tina Turner was the most successful promotional song that the NRL have ever had, before the song was used the NRL was in Decline and with its success they have never looked back.
The other song of course is "Up There Cazaly" by Mike Brady which was the song used by the VFL, and this was also a huge success for that footy code.
