Adelaide 36ers into the 2013/14 NBL Grand Final
The 36ers fairytale season has continued - as they belted Melbourne 102-63 in game 3 of the semi-finals to storm into the Grand Final.
The home crowd, while it may have been the 2nd smallest attendance of the season (game 1 of the semi was the smallest), it was the loudest I've ever heard at Adelaide Arena. And the treatment Goulding (rightfully) received from the crowd was brilliant (Goulding did himself no favours with a ridiculous flop in the 2nd quarter that, frankly, should've been an USF), but the 36ers were just on fire. Their offence was red hot, their defence was tighter than a Coalition budget, and they harassed and pummelled Melbourne into submission.
Can they complete the fairytale with an unlikely Grand Final win over Perth?

That was one of there best wins for the season completely smashing the opposition, I watched most of the game and they didn't have a weakness either in defence or offence and that was without the suspended Gary Ervin.
The real test is to come now and expect a much tougher time from the Perth Wildcats.

$40.00 too much for me, no value in my book, hope they win though

They are playing a great side, the Wildcats were minor premiers.
Played each other 4 times this season with 2 wins each--36rs won both home games and the Wildcats won both of there home games.
Lets hope the 36rs can break through with an away win.

Giving away far too many offensive rebounds. Going to cost us in the end but we are hanging in there.

Good final quarter. Shows we can mix it with them. Reckon we can knock them off in game 2.

A 7 point loss in a game they played quite ordinary at times is respectable. Good to see they never gave up and got it back to 3 late in the game.
Bring on game 2!
Bring on game 2!

Getting tickets for game 2 has become a bit of a farce.
Protix completely melted down when game 2 tickets went on sale to the general public, with their phone engaged (I think they only have one consultant on the phone) and the website going into meltdown.
After 3 hours, Protix suspended ticket sales, and are hoping to have their system back up tomorrow.
I was lucky that I managed to get tickets - after an hour where on at least 6 occasions I had tickets allocated only for the server to time out before it could take payment and I had to start over, plus at least another dozen times where it timed out before I got a seat allocation. Many others weren't so lucky, including reports Protix have taken people's money but not allocated them a seat.
If game 2 doesn't sell out, then you can put the blame squarely at Protix.

Interesting that the last home game played by the sixers only attracted just over 4,000, they were in second position going into the finals.
This week they play at home again in the second game of the grand final and it sells out, over 8,500 will be in attendance, double the last home game attendance.
Just like any sport I guess, but people come out of the woodwork when its finals time.

That attendance of just over 4000 was for game 3 of semi finals - game 1 only got 3800! The weeknight scheduling of those matches just killed the crowds, as for most of the season the 36ers have been averaging around 6000.

That game was 7pm on a Tuesday night. Terrible timing. Will be keeping an ear out for the scores while at Richmond tonight and hopefully watching a sixers victory when I get home. Get loud those that are lucky enough to be going tonight.

Wildcats 2014 Champions
36rs thrashed in game three 93 to 59
The Perth Wildcats on top all season but a great effort by the 36rs after finishing bottom last year.
