Dennis Hoey would have turned 122 years old yesterday.....he's best remembered (by me) as the bumbling Inspector Lestrade in the Basil Rathbones' & Nigel Bruces' Sherlock Holmes' series, but he had an amazing arrange of films from ''Tarzan & the Leopard woman'', ''Frankenstein meets the Wolfman'' to a more mainstream "national Velvet'' & ''The Secret Garden''

8/4/1992
Kurt Cobain was found dead after committing suicide

5/4/1992
This is the official date of Cobains death aged a mere 27 years old

Its somewhat intriguing how a superstar identity like Cobain could be dead for for 3 calender days before someone found him.

Wasn't Daisy the man that effectively was the voice of and started SAFM back in 1980 or thereabouts?

He must have been a bit sad to see what SAFM became.
However, at least 104.7 regenerated the classic rock format.
He'd have been happy with that.

RIP Daisy

We have learnt , weve absorbed , but the more we try to be like BB the less convincing we were.

after watching those hammer films like ''Scars of Dracular'' & the other Dracular movies starring Christopher Lee, i didn't think he'd ever die, anyway Christopher Lee passed away recently (7th June), he was 93 years old, off course he also was a villian with 3 nipples on one of the James Bond films ''The Man with the Golden Gun'' playing Scaramanga..................

RIP Christopher ''Dracular'' Lee

That is supposed to be a pun isn't it?
You are usually more in your face with these, Scrappy.
This one is a bit more subtle.

And in 1962 he got to be in the best movie of all time (IMHO), "Lawrence of Arabia".
He may even have gotten to embrace, hold and kiss his camel in that too! Very Happy

Like Anthony Quinn (who was also in LOA) Sharif was really one of those type-cast actors playing most particularly ethnic roles.

He got the Zhivago role as David Lean (who directed both) liked him in LOA.

Yep Omar gets those ethic gigs, ala Anthony Quinn , and Con the Fruiterer

I mentioned Omar was lucky he co starred with the beautiful Julie Christie
It is reported that another actress was deeply considered before Christie got the part
It was Jane Fonda!
