Who will you lose in the Draft?
The AFL National Draft is only a few weeks away. Who's going to get hit hardest by this year's pillage? Who are the likely contenders at your club?
At Westies, the leading candidates would probably be Zac Bates, Nick Favretto, Joel Tippett and Travis Tuck.
As a roughie I could see some clubs taking a shine to Peter Nelson as a rookie, particularly after his 4-goal performance at the MCG in the Foxtel Cup.

At Sturt there is Battersby. He is gone I reckon.

Norwood would be resigned to losing Aish and Dumont. Fantasia is also being talked about. I wouldn't be surprised to see Liam Davis rookied - he probably doesn't do enough yet but he can take pack marks like few other players can.
Any other mature-agers a chance?

Yes, they tend to like players who can kick like him.Scrunch wrote:Matt Fuller too

You're right in saying he should be taken again, but I'm hearing that he is not being swamped with offers, oddly.Big Phil wrote:Matt Thomas

I thought Richmond expressed a strong interest in recruiting him...eartotheground wrote:You're right in saying he should be taken again, but I'm hearing that he is not being swamped with offers, oddly.Big Phil wrote:Matt Thomas
I'm sure he will get his way on to another AFL list, if not, a bonus for the Redlegs...

Dunstan and Karpany would think would be definitely taken out of the juniors.
I reckon Goldsworthy might be a chance as a senior rookie, but have been saying that for a couple of years now.

I think Goldsworthy is too slow for AFL. If you compare him to the small forwards like Betts, Garlett, Motlop, Jetta...he's not near them for pace.

A story on the AFL site quotes Bassett as saying about 6 AFL clubs are looking at Matt Fuller.

I dont see him often or actually notice him when West play Norwood as I guess he is not a flashy "name" player, is he good enough for AFL? (not trolling, a genuine qusetion)

I've seen enough of him to answer that with a definite 'YES'.

Having lost Guerra who takes their kick-ins I can see Hawthorn having some interest.

His biggest concern at present would be his body holding up, but Im lead to believe he is a near certainty to be drafted, Brisbane and Adelaide heading the list last I heard.
