Not sure that it is Tuck, easily...
Chad O'Sullivan, Mathew Campbell, Nathan Gordon and Brad Mangan up there, as well...

Chad O'Sullivan wouldn't qualify as a recruit, Phil.
We're talking about players new to the SANFL this year.
In any event, Chad wouldn't maych he other 3, IMO.

Re: Recruit of the Year
I think a recruit is a recruit regardless of where they came from. Gordon, Ainger or Tuck. You could mount an argument for any one of those three. 50 goals in a year might put Ainger ahead of the others in my eyes but only just.
There have been others switching between clubs who have played regular league football like Langford, Craig Evans, Borholm, O'Sullivan and there are probably others who while not being superstars have made a good contribution at their new club.

Re: Recruit of the Year
I was going to nominate Ainger but it appears the rules were re-defined. I tend to agree that a recruit is a new player to a club. I wouldn't have included Matt Campbell as a recruit for example.

Re: Recruit of the Year
No rules, it was just my opinion that a recruit was someone new to the SANFL.
Feel free to nominate anyone who's changed clubs, not a problem.

I didnt think there were any rules either. Even if there aren't, Gordon and Tuck are still ahead of Ainger. Perhaps not in earnings, but in impact for their club they are.

Re: Recruit of the Year
I think Gordon and Tuck and the two most dynamic and who could perhaps step up to the next level, but as ca has pointed out 50 goals is hard to argue with in terms of impact to a club.

Re: Recruit of the Year
after thinking about it & looking at names in past budgets i was going to say Andrew Ainger, if he isn't ''allowed'' to be on the list (even though he is a recruit) i'd say it's a dead heat between Tuck & Gordon (Gordon the first half of the season & Tuck the second half of the season)......mind you if either of the two are instrumental in their respective teams going top then that player would end up as my number 1....(can't see them beating Norwood though)

Re: Recruit of the Year
Ainger ?? Surely eagles supporters expected more from him this year ??
Not stirring but thought he would be more prominent than he was this year.

Tuck for mine. Would have him at South in a heartbeat (well would have most listed here anyway). Tuck though has averaged 21 disposals and a league-high 8 clearances per game across the season. One of the best inside midfielders going around. Has averaged 25 disposals, 9 clearances and 15 contested possessions in the two finals too.
