Preliminary Final: West v North, Sunday 29 September @ AAMI Stadium
West v North
Sunday 29 September
AAMI Stadium
3:10pm
2013 meetings
Round 4 @ City Mazda Stadium
West 8.10.58
North 7.15.57
Round 9 @ Prospect Oval
North 14.10.94
West 13.7.85
West are coming off a smashing against Norwood, while North came from behind to knock off the Eagles to storm into this Preliminary Final. Will West make is consecutive Norwood v West Grand Finals, or will North overrun West and storm into the Grand Final from 5th spot - and giving them the unique honour of playing in Football Park's first and last ever matches.

Intriguing match up. I think West have a good recent record at shutting North down (bar 15 minutes of madness at Prospect). However West look a little banged up to me. Might wait for selection before making a call.

This year's finals series is very similar to last year. I hope for the same Prelim Final result. North were hot favourites to win with the public last year, but West won comfortably.
I agree with Scrunch, though, West do look a little banged up, but they match up well.
West's problem is that so far, Norwood have only played West in finals in 2012 and 2013. I suspect attitudes towards West's performances might have changed if Norwood had playe d a different team.
North's last outing against Norwood saw them battling for a top 3 position and they kicked 5 goals.
West's scoring rate this year compares well with the other teams and they kicked consistently good scores.
It'll be tough for West, but I'm hoping for a good game.

Quite a few outs and ins this week.
Are you boys confident that this team will get the job done?

This will be a big test for West. It will be hard to come back after last week against a resurgent North.
There will be a lesson from the game, depending on who wins.
If West win, I don't think any criticism of their performances or game style will carry as much weight. If you can't beat them, there's not much room to criticise.
If North win, then we get to see a different team take on Norwood and see if they do any better.
Ar this stage, North would be favourites to progress, but we all thought that last year at the same stage.

I think West are the better team but I just feel last week took a bit too much out of West. On the flipside sometimes in the finals series you can fall for the old mistake of picking the previous weeks winner without considering the different standard of opponents they each played.
Its very hard to pick. I think Ill tip North based purely on the mounting injury count of West.

North seem to be travelling better at the moment. Westies longer season ane extra cup games looks to have caught up with them.
The Roosters by a couple of goals

Think North will win this. There side is more settled and West have suffered injuries to key players
