Kris Massie has been sacked at Glenelg. Who will replace him?

Bassett and McGregor?????
Reckon McGregor could be half a chance at the bays.

that isn't quite right, he hasn't been sacked, he just wasn't given another contract
i feel for him because it wasn't his fault he got the job when he wasn't ready for it, however from the outer it appeared he didn't understand what the makeup of opposition teams were & never learned it either

Has there ever been so many SANFL coaches departing in one year, I can't ever remember this many.

Re: Glenelg looking for a new Coach
Since our 20 goal loss to the roosters, my interest in footy dissapeared this year, all my sources dried up, I just read the forums now till the end of this SANFL season, bugger the AFL and their problems.

It would be a shame if there was another coach who might leave.

I think Seamus Maloney may have received a promotion at work and he is weighing up whether or not he can balance work and coaching. Bassett linked to North Melbourne...

They have to be around somewhere Chambo.
All the previous ones, either good or bad came from our system, there has to be some smart footballers out there who are capable of getting results.
The type of coaches I would be looking for, with out naming people, would be the hard working players who never get the credit they deserve when playing, I wouldn't be looking at the stars who make football look easy, as time has shown that they have never made good coaches, and of course the type of person who is prepared to put in the hard work and that little bit extra to make them successful with a club.

Re: Glenelg looking for a new Coach
Sturt tried a 4 man coaching panel this year, to ease the load on Seamus. With Brodie Atkinson, Paul Jarvis as assistants and Adam Silvey responsible for the reserves. This seemed to work pretty well and I'm sure the club would be happy to go with it again. But obviously Seamus has to look first at his real world job. He's been with the same company for many years and is a very stable kind of person. Naturally we hope he can see his way clear to carry on the rebuilding process we've got underway. But if not, then I guess we'd need to think long and hard about how we go forward. It would be a disaster for the club, if we were to waste the young talent we have at present.Big Phil wrote:I think Seamus Maloney may have received a promotion at work and he is weighing up whether or not he can balance work and coaching.
