SANFL draft picks to WA allocation Empty SANFL draft picks to WA allocation

The following Eagles / Dockers picks (including a few drafted from SANFL clubs) were allocated accross the WAFL

1. Peel Thunder - Lee Spur (Central Districts)

2. Swan Districts - Lachie Neale (Glenelg)

3. East Perth - Jayden Pitt (Perth / Geelong Falcons)

4. Perth - Zac Dawson (St Kilda)

5. East Fremantle - Cam Sutcliffe (Woodville-West Torrens)

6. Peel Thunder - Tom Sheridan (Calder Cannons)

7. Swan Districts - Alex Forster (Norwood)

8. East Perth - Hayden Crozier (Eastern Ranges)

9. South Fremantle - Jordan Wilson-King (NT Thunder)

10. West Perth – Michael Mascoulis (Northern Knights)

Good luck to all the SANFL boys at their new clubs...

I think Lee Spurr will stand out in the Peel side which should help increase his chances of being elevated to the senior list and play AFL footy.

What's the draft system over there? I notice West Perth didn't get a pick until every other club, and they weren't last season's premiers.

It looks like 3 teams get a second pick early, then in reverse premiership order.

For example, Subiaco and Claremont (at least) don't get a pick at all.

Yeah, I hadn't noticed that. Sounds like the WAFL are far more interested in an even competition than the SANFL.

Very true. However, it would appear that was prior to the WAFL putting certain things in place such as player points instead of salary cap, and now priority picks to lower clubs.
