The wrap up - South V Eagles Empty Re: The wrap up - South V Eagles

One of the colder days I've had at the footy. Need to showcase every ground in the league during the year. South's first half right up there, with great debut by Caleb Daniel. Second half, however, allowed the Eagles the space they couldn't find early, and they broke right away. Lee Staple stepped up as a strong decoy to Andrew Ainger, Crwod of 1203 very disappointing.

Didn't watch it all, mainly first half, but I thought it was one of the worst games I'd seen.

And that's sayin' something!

The three big wins by the grades against Glenelg, seems to have poisoned all of them because since then, it's been very ordinary.
For whatever reason, the ABC love telecasting us:
Eagles 6
Sturt 3
Central 2
Glenelg 2
Norwood 2
Port 2
South 2
West 2
North 1

And that six is out of a possible seven Saturday afternoon matches (one against Norwood on a Friday night, two against South and Sturt on a Sunday being the others).  Surely South have another Saturday afternoon planned this year?  With the Crows being on today as well, it would have been wiser to do the Port match?

If it does happen (commercial TV) I would hope they could be more flexible than the ABC - not only would it help attendances, but it should also increase their ratings because they would not be up against the Crows and Power!

The ABC do a great production and have supported the SANFL for a long time.

I hope it doesn't change to a commercial station.

There are plenty of terrific Norwood supporters, but this forum has seen some of the really precious ones getting upset over nothing.

Doesn't apply to any current posters, I hasten to add.

Here's an interesting stat - the 39 point loss is the biggest South have had at home this year

Yes, they did - for whatever reason, I had the match down as Richmond Embarassed

My apologies, and thanks for letting me know, because I would like to think my records are accurate Wink

apart from a huge payout is there any other reason to keep Ron Fuller there next year ? has he lost the majority if not all the players ? i'd presume he has going on effort & performance

South had solid effort in the first half and they faded away after that.
