The Rangers take out their series against Ottawa 4-3

And the last piece of the semi-final puzzle is complete with New Jersey eliminating Florida 4-3.

So the Conference semi-finals look as follows:

Western Conference
(2) St Louis v (8 ) Los Angeles
(3) Phoenix v (4) Nashville

Eastern Conference
(1) New York Rangers v (7) Washington
(5) Philadelphia v (6) New Jersey

Interesting to note that Washington is the only non-Atlantic division side left in the Eastern Conference, guaranteeing at least one Atlantic division side in the Conference final (and will most likely be all-Atlantic as I expect the Rangers to sweep Washington).

Amazing game 3 between the New York Rangers and Washington which went into triple overtime (and in playoffs, each overtime is the full 20 minutes) before the Rangers prevailed 2-1 and take a 2-1 series lead.

It is 39 dollars for a family of 4 or 17.50 for an adult. 15 dollars concession. Get down there to watch some great Ice Hockey. games start @ 4.30pm Adelaide time. I would recommend turning up an hour early or book online at

that is alot cheaper than what I paid for my Family ticket here in Melbourne. I spent 55 dollars on tomorrows game of the Mustangs vs. Knights.

Despite the scoreline going against Adelaide, I knew I should have went yesterday. Still, will definately look at going later in the season.

Mate well worth it I take the wife and kids along to the Mustangs game here in Melbourne and we love it. The kids got to meet the players in the locker room after the game. The Mustangs are a young club but is the best one to look after fans here in Melbourne.

And the Western Final is all set with Phoenix defeating Nashville 4-1. So it will be third seeded Phoenix against the eighth seeded Los Angeles playing off for one of the Stanley Cup final spots

In NHL news, New Jersey defeat Philadelphia 4-1, and the Rangers are one game away from making the Eastern Conference final an all Atlantic affair (and given the way the Rangers and Devils start matches - one very fiery final series)

The Eastern Conference final is officially an all-Atlantic affair with the Rangers knocking off the Capitals 4-3 in their series.

So the conference finals look like this:

Western Conference: (3) Phoenix v (8 ) Los Angeles
Eastern Conference: (1) New York Rangers v (6) New Jersey

Adelaide had a big weekend up on the gold coast Hammering the blue tongues. This week end the New boys come to town Perth Thunder. Perth lost to the Melbourne Ice 4-2 and them hammered the Mustangs 5-2 (not happy about losing that one.)

And LA are the first side through to the Stanley Cup finals with a 4-1 series win over Phoenix. This will be their first Stanley Cup final since 1993.

And joining LA in the Stanley Cup is New Jersey, who took out their series over the Rangers 4-2

So the final will be the West's 8th seed LA v the East's 6th seed New Jersey. Would be some time since the Stanley Cup playoffs were contested by sides that low in seedings I suspect.

For the first time since the 1950's, the first two matches of the Stanley Cup Final have gone to overtime. In both matches, LA have won 2-1 to take a 2-0 lead.

The series now heads to the Staples Centre for games 3 and 4

LA take out game 3 of the final 4-0, and are just one win away from an incredible Stanley Cup win!

We have at least one more match in this series as New Jersey take out game 4 3-1

And we're heading back to the Staples Centre as New Jersey inflict LA's first road loss of the postseason with a 2-1 win.

Congratulations to the LA Kings, who came from the 8th seed in the Western Conference to take their first Stanley Cup, a 6-1 win over New Jersey seeing the Kings take the series 4-2

I nfind it hard to come to trerms with hot places winning ice hockeyt.

I know that's stupid, but I also barrack for the Canadian teams, where I first got a bit interested in Ice Hockey when visiting Vancouver.

I also think one of the Canadian teams has the best nickname.

The Toronto Maple Leafs.
