Foot-E Times
This is a great publication and I'd encourage as many posters as possible to subscribe to it next year.
It brings up many discussion points and that's what forums like this are about, so I'll quote from this week's edition, with a bit of criticism in this case for Peter Argent.
Also the way Andy Collins justified his game style
over local radio was a joke. Suggesting guys like
Alan Jeans, John Kennedy and Alastair Clarkson
used his style is delusional.
Finally if you look at James Boyd’s history,
and the fact he’s won SANFL under 17s and
reserves Magarey Medals previously, there
was no doubt he was going to pole well in this
year’s count.
I heard that interview with Andrew Collins. IMO, as biased as I might be, I thought it was one of the best interviews of its type I've heard for a long time. I suggest Peter has another listen, as my recollection was that at no time did Collins suggest those coaches 'used his style', merely that that style (which he used) was becoming more the way to success. he brought up many good talking points about it and it was a far more interesting and revealing interview than much of the cliched pap we often hear.
Peter, instead of bagging Collins for showing some emotion after the game, giving a little more attention to detail might be time better spent, as I then read that James Boyd would 'pole' well in the MM>
I've enjoyed your work this year, so the above is just a one-off criticism, but in this case I think your comments were 100% off.
(At least Don Cooper will sigh with relief this week)

Re: Foot-E Times
Oh, to prove my point that Peter is totally wrong, it's obviously impossible for John Kennedy and Alan Jeans to 'use his style' when they've finished coaching long before Collins started coaching.
A delusional comment, Peter

Re: Foot-E Times
Thanks for the feedback R&B ... can I put it in Wednesday's issue?
If I was to have one criticism of the FOOT-e TIMES SA team this year it is that we agree TOO MUCH on issues ... so I don't mind if one goes rouge once in a while.
Cheers

No problem, Phil, I've enjoyed reading it, agreeing often and disagreeing at times
