The Beatles was a hard act to follow
But I was a bit disappointed I didnt like Wings as much as I thought I would

BEATLE COVERS
The Beatles are arguably the greatest band of all time
2 of their greatest hits were covered by Australian bands

Nowhere Man : Sherbet
Eleanor Rigby : Zoot

I reckon the Aussie bands did a better rendition of the covers
Braithwaite's version of Nowhere Man , was one of his best ever efforts
Cotton did a great cover of Eleanor Rigby , and the heavier beat version by Zoot sways me to Zoots version being the better.

And you have Joe Cocker's version of Eleanor Rigby to balance those 2 against.
All different.

Reckon it was in the 70s when the Voice released that.
It's on a live album of his that I have. I'll have a look if it mentions the release date.

Yes chambo it was awhile ago, 1980 to be exact, the single was produced by Graeme Goble of the Little river band before Farnham joined them.

I much preferred the Beatles version
I'm not sure if the Voice had the right voice for that song
But then again, could anyone have done a better job singing Sadie ?

Story goes Lennon and his Quarryman buddys were performing
During a break Paul wormed his way to 'converse' with Lennon and Co
He did  transition of Twenty Flight Rock , and so very impressed upon Lennon , this led to the formation of arguably the worlds greatest ever band.

Twenty Flight Rock was released by Eddie Cochrane , a singer who had influenced Paul Macs early times with his sensational music
Eddie Cochrane lived a very brief life, he died in a car accident aged 21 , but left an indelible impression

George Harrison had a great voice--Still love listening to "Something" on which he was lead singer, and what a great band he was in called "The Traveling Wilbury's"

This has been brought up recently
Had John not been assassinated or George died then there was a chance of a reunion according to Ringo

Cant be done now
But 'imagine' how great it would be if Ringo and Paul did a gig

George Harrison at one stage went AWOL for a brief time
There was some uncertainty about whether he would leave the Beatles
John Lennon wanted Eric Clapton to join the band.
And why not, Eric Clapton had been involved two of the greatest ever rock bands in The Yardbirds and Cream

This kit was recently auctioned and went for 3 million dollars
