Round 16: Eagles v Norwood, Sunday 15 July 2012 @ Unleash Solar Oval
V
Sunday 15 July
Unleash Solar Oval
Reserves: 11:25am
League: 2:10pm
Broadcast: Life FM
The Eagles form continued to deteriorate with a poor loss to South, while Norwood were fantastic in their significant win over Centrals. Will the Eagles shock the league leaders, or will Norwood continue on their merry way?

Norwood could win by as many as 10 goals here. I think they've been through their 'slump' and will be up and about for the rest of the season.

I've learnt my lesson.
Norwood easily in a low scoring game.

Rumour has it that WWT tweeted "Season Over" last week, think its a ploy to motivate their players and that they will come up accordingly this week, Eagles by 21pts.

Norwood 15.9 99
def
Eagles 13.9 87
Despite the fact that they lost, a much better effort from the Eagles this week. Certainley closer than many thought anyway!

From the above side named thursday night .No cica no rowntree no grieger .Couple minutes in no Day .Just before the end Staple went off with an arm wrist injury might have broken it .
So a good loss !!
Funny number 1 side in the seconds losses to the bottom team .Bottom team in the seconds moves to second to bottom.
Second bottom team loses to top team in the league just second bottom team moves to bottom .

Much closer Ben, but with that loss they have dropped to the BOTTOM of the ladder, but I'm sure there supporters are happy with the effort.

A very good question. That was our third Sunday game in a row, fourth in the past 5 weeks and I'm sick of it.

I guess the SANFL are wanting to maximise their attendance numbers and have scheduled a fair few more Sunday games in the hope, perhaps, that those who play their own sport on Saturday would attend SANFL on Sunday. Some clubs may have also requesed Sunday games, as well?waddayamean wrote:Why was this game and to a lesser extent north and port played Sunday considering the crows were on TV?

The problem I have with that is I'm an old fashioned footy supporter, I like my footy on a Saturday afternoon. You take 4 Sunday games in our past 5, a bye, then three Friday night games, that means I've spent 1 Saturday afternoon in 9 weeks watching my club.
I've got used to Friday night games, but I will never like Sunday games.

Yeah, true. Only the SANFL know why the fixture is the way it is. Darren Chandler was on the RPH Show a couple of weeks ago and said at the end of the day, not all club's and fans requests or expectations can be met. It must be a tough thing to do and although it does seem at times there could have been better alternatives to certain fixtures in any given round, all in all I think it's not too bad. As a huge fan of the SANFL, it is a bonus for me as it means I can get to as many games as possiblewaddayamean wrote:I wouldn't think playing games against the Crows on TV would capitlise crowds either.

Anyway, I'm digressing and taking this thread off topic. Sounds like the Eagles were compeitive but the class of the Redlegs shone through in the end. How did Chippendale go in his League debut Legs' fans?

I don't know, I wasn't there, but Bass seemed to be please with his debut. Not many possessions but chased and tackled well.
