McDONALD’S STATE TEAM TAKES ON TASMANIA
The McDonald’s State Team will travel to Hobart tomorrow (Saturday, June 2) for its first match of the 2012 NAB AFL U18s Championships.

SA will take on Tasmania at Blundstone Arena (Bellerive Oval) on Sunday, June 3 at 11am Adelaide time.

No surprises with the above score. The state of the TSL at the moment is that I could rock up to one of the struggling clubs and play - and I haven't touched a footy for around 5-6 years!

It's also difficult without a reserves comp (abandoned a few years ago due to clubs not being able to field teams), there's no real pressure for selection.

Tasmania has a long way to go before becoming strong; I fear that Qld and NSW will become stronger states over time.

That's a real pity. There was a time, long ago, that Tassie were relatively strong.
