2023 GRAND FINAL GLENELG V STURT
The last time these 2 clubs met in a GF was in 1974
ST 9-16
GL 8-7
That was the first SANFL League Grand Final played at Football Park
ST lead GL 3-0 in Grand Finals between the teams 1969+ 1970+1974
Like most people I reckon GL will win the 2023 Grand Final making it their 6th Premiership in total
The weather forecast is for a sunny day and about 26 degrees
The weather should suit GL

I heard a radio presenter say (without stating why) that the sanfl must be happy with a Glenelg / Sturt GF.
I can only think that this was because the Crows would not bring a significant supporter draw to the game.

Sturt vs Glenelg should draw somewhere between 35000 and 45000 people. Glenelg vs Crows would have drawn 25,000 people at most.Chambo Off To Work We Go wrote:I heard a radio presenter say (without stating why) that the sanfl must be happy with a Glenelg / Sturt GF.

Congratulations the Glenelg Football club winning the 2023 Premiership
Bayman and The Emperor , party hard tonight
ST had a very very good season , to make the 2023 Grand Final is a great effort

Well done to the Bays. Big smiles for Bayman - a win in both grades.
Sturt 0-4 in all GF grades.
The Bays firepower up forward is by far the best in the league with 3 key weapons. Hosie was unstoppable.
4 goals is about the difference between the 2 sides.
We need some more key forwards to make up that 4 goals.
Toward the end of the season, the Blues were really not kicking scores that win you games against the best sides.

thanks Chambo, still to have made four grand finals shows the club is in good hands & has a bright future, as for the game if i barracked for Sturt i'd be proud because the team could have just thrown in the towel when it got to 41 points but they fought it out until the final siren.....i don't drink & woke up with a hangover

Yes they did keep having a crack and who knows if the last quarter kicking was better.
But the overall game stats don't lie, the Bays had a lot more of the footy.
I've heard of second hand cigarette smoke, but alcohol?
Still the adrenaline of a premiership will do that!

Sure, it is a mighty achievement to play in all 4 Grand Finals and the club should be in a good position, but we only have to go back 12 months to see where we thought North were after losing the League, Reserves and Under 18s Grand Finals and being eliminated in the first semi final of the Under 16s.
12 months later North are not nearly as good a position as they were.
Perhaps Darren Reeves was the main reason North were so competitive last year.
He is a most impressive person.
If I were involved with an AFL club I would be closely looking at him for a senior assistant position in 2025.
