Re: Seb Guilhaus
Harsh considering the post as taken down very quickly from reports.
I cant too many striking charges on the SANFL website copping 3 matches. SANFL is more concerned with a facebook site that only family and friends look at than actions that may hurt players.

I didn't see it but something about the umpires he gets three games
North found guilty of cheating fined $10'000 and lose two matches in 2019
Something Smells fishy

Basically inferred the umps and 19th man cheated them out of a win. In this day and age of brand management he was always going to have to face the music.
Understand the pain he would have been feeling at the time, but the players and clubs know they can’t disparage the competition publicly, so hard for him to argue against the penalty.

Here's a question for scrunch . Why was Seb the only player who posted online on Facebook reported and suspended .
When Boyd also posted on Facebook and at a guess others may have as well.
And the person handling the suspension down reports are he used to be involved with North Adelaide.
Are the sanfl making a statement that money talks from that end of the city .

I don’t know Micky but I think you’re reading too much into it. Other comments made weren’t as inflammatory as Sebs so that night play a part. Not sure why you’d question it and keep it alive to be honest unless you’re hoping Hayes and Boyd also get penalized. If you look at purely Sebs case on its merits I don’t know how you can be upset with his penalty.

Here's a question for you mickyj. What do you mean by "making a statement that money talks from that end of the city"?
You surely can't be suggesting that because Ian White used to play for North (and South) that the SANFL (and North with your reference to "that end of the city") paid him to suspend Seb Guilhaus for 3 matches.

Re: Seb Guilhaus
Seems a bit harsh for what was obviously a statement made out of frustration and a well deserved feeling of being cheated out of a Grand Final appearance. Surely a warning and a fine would have done.

Well king rooster from my time in paid work . If an employer
Had issues with an employee they wouldn't use anyone connected to say two employees that have a conflict .
If there was another commissioner who had no connection
Why not use them.
Scrunch I only named Boyd and Seb.If more than Seb posted how come only Seb was suspended just saying seems strange.
It also seems strange it's only announced as three weeks unlike all other reports in 2018.
The other thing standing out if Seb has in fact retired from the sanfl as some rumours indicate why in fact is a retired sanfl player suspended .
Of course the other glaring issue why haven't the Eagles appealed it unlike North's being found guilty it states clearly no appeal.

You have made a very valid point there regarding employment conflict issues.
However, the conflict here has nothing to do with North Adelaide, it is between the SANFL and Seb Guilhaus. There is no conflict of interest having Ian White hear the case.

If there's no conflict then no issue.
What I've seen asked online and I've asked why does this report and suspension only say 3 weeks seeing every report in 2018 states offered whatever if pleading guilty dropped from whatever weeks. Just seems strange it's only showing 3 weeks.
Unless in 2019 that's what will be appearing in the media.

Seb's facebook post was way out of line. I reckon he'd be happy it was only 3. It wasnt a report like in a game, he would have been charged under bringing the game into disrepute so i think you're off the mark Micky.

Re: Seb Guilhaus
I maybe out of line as will every online Eagles fans .
But there's two rumours about Seb either he's playing on it he has retired . If he has retired from the SANFL ( as I say rumours are circulating he has or hasn't ) why would the SANFL suspend a retired football player costs $$$ to do suspend players wasted money if he has retired .

Mickyj, regardless of whether he’s retired or not from the sanfl, the penalty will stand in any competition he competes in....always has & I dare say always will

Bayman my point if he retires totally from football ( I have no clue if he is ) why is the sanfl wasting money on suspension.
If Seb is playing on I get it
But if he is totally giving up football what is he suspended from ?

If he has retired then nothing will happen, however the penalty stands if he decides to play anywhere in the country, I can’t see how this costs the sanfl money though

Bayman I'm assuming seeing the SANFL is an employer and a commissioner would be classed as an employee and get $$$ to hear reports and pass judgement . That's why I believe it costs money . I assume employees of the SANFL get paid .
So if Seb decided no more footy would you pay a commissioner to suspend him.
And if he is playing on why are the Eagles not appealing

Micky, I think you've done this argument to death.
I'm with the posters who have correctly explained the situation .
Time to let it go, I think

Pretty sure the umpires were going to take legal action if the SANFL didn't come down hard!!!
