North Adelaide 2018 season Empty North Adelaide 2018 season

These are a few ins and outs so far this season
There might be more, please post if so

OUTS

BOLES
CORBETT
GROVE
LEONARDIS
LISTON
MCKENZIE
G THRING
MOTLOP

INS

ALLMOND
CASTREE
DEEP
LOWER
MILLER
STENGLE
TROPIANO
YOUNG

Mckenzie and George Thring are significant outs
Midfield should be OK with Allmond, Tropiano, Young as ins
Robbie Young looks to give NA the crumbing brilliant small they need, the sort of player Matty the flash Campbell was

The midfield and small brigade looks in good shape , as well as the recruits North have Spina, Max Thring and Schwarz to rely upon
Need the taller players to play consistently well , so the seasons of Craig, Barns, Wilkie, Harvey need to be good

If North have a good run with injuries they should improve this season
Were competitive in several losing games in 2017, now with the extra smalls in the team , could make a diff between winning and losing
I have a sneaky suspicion damp/wet conditions will help North this season

Prediction 6th-10th

It is very early days but you just about look like Nostradamus, Scrappy. North's midfield is doing very well and I thought the heavy conditions suited North today. I can confidently now predict that North won't finish 10th but given a fair run with injuries should now finish mid table. The only problem there is that about 6 sides look like they will be mid table.

TALLS

Heres some I have not previewed

Keenan Ramsey is making himself a target up forward, and is enjoying a very good season so far

Tanner Smith was very impressive against Sturt in round 3 in defence

Lewis Hender could be the BIG X factor of all the talls if he has an above average season

NA 2-1 after RD3
Have had the BIG win over WA in RD2 and the gutsy win against ST at Unley in RD3 , are they heading for the real deal tag in 2018 ?

Revised Prediction 4th-8th

The surprise packet so far. Playing good footy and the midfield looks dangerous.

Are North Adelaide the real deal ?
Since the round 1 loss to CD , they have won the next 3 games
Those wins against the 3 teams that have won the last 6 SANFL Grand Finals between them [NW/WA/ST]

I dont know what to make of this Rooster resurgence this season
Are they a fit early season team winning
Or
Are they are very very good team

Which ever it is its great too watch

After 8 games are 6-2

I ask the question again are the rooSTARs the real deal ?
Their form is no fluke as they have beaten the current 2nd/3rd/4th sides on the ladder
They have beaten Eagles and Sturt in away games , and trounced the current in form Norwood at Prospect

They have just smashed Port at Alberton by an amazing 79 points
PA 4-8 [32]
NA 17-9 [111]

Former Port Adelaide player Alex Barns had a day to remember at Alberton
4 Goals Port Adelaide
8 Goals Alexander The Great Barns

Expected minor Round finish 1st -5th

http://sanfl.com.au/news/2018/06/21/carrs-contract-extension/

North Adelaide has moved quickly to extend the contract of coach Josh Carr, with the former Power midfielder to remain at Prospect until the end of 2020.

Sitting at the top of the Macca’s League premiership table heading into Round 12, the Roosters have been the genuine surprise packet this season with an 8-2 win-loss record.

Entering the final season of his initial three-year deal, Carr had previously guided North to ninth in 2016 and tenth in 2017 – proving there is much to be said for clubs having patience in coaches laying foundations after their initial appointment.

The Roosters have been able to keep the majority of their squad together under Carr’s tutelage, as well as recruiting wisely with the addition of former Eagles star Jarred Allmond, Sandover Medallist Aidan Tropiano, ex-Magpies forward Robbie Young and bargain basement pick Brock Castree.

There has also been much improvement coming from within as existing recruits Tanner Smith, Matt Appleton and Tom Schwarz have developed a higher level of consistency while young players such as Maris Olekalns, Sam McInerney and Mackenzie Slee have been performing their roles with minimum fuss.

”Josh has continued his vision of creating a culture of continuous development and improvement throughout the club,” North chief executive Greg Edwards said.

”We are beginning to see the on-field performance of that throughout each level of our football program. At a senior level, our young list is hungry and aggressively striving to be consistent in the pressure and intensity they bring to each match, and our juniors are following suit.

”We look forward to continuing to support Josh as he leads the Roosters into the future.”

NA 10-7 with 1 round to go
Will finish in either 4-5th spot

Dropped off after been an exhilarating team in the first half of the season
The question is can they recapture that brilliant form ?
Maybe
That maybe is having players available and in form
They have 2 brilliant defenders in Wilke and Smith
The rucks might be if young Jordan Sweet continues to improve, he impressed against NW
The key is getting the Prospect awesome foursome in available and in form
Tropiano, Allmond, Thring and Young can be a very lethal combo, when they all play together

Going to be hard to win a flag from the Elimination Final
With the provisos Ive posted, they could impact in the finals

Sadly I think they might be out in the Elim as SA have beaten NA convincingly twice this season
Even so, if they lose against SA, the roosters have been a BIG improver this season, a flag window open 2019 onwards

The best team of the first half of the season, regained that form to win the flag
Jordan Sweets late season contributions in ruck was a bonus
Awesome team
Cotton was coach of year in the media , maybe so at the time of selection
Josh Carr, would be now
NA the only team to come from 10th to win a flag

Absolute pleasure watching the roosters play an explosive , exciting brand of football

Woodcock and Rozee , are good enough to get drafted
