Central v Norwood at Elizabeth
The blockbuster under lights.
With the Eagles losing Round 1, the winners become the team to beat.

Re: Central v Norwood at Elizabeth
Right, the trial games are over, now it's time for the real stuff.
Last time they met: 2011 Second Semi Final (will need to jump a fair way through to get to this game)
Last season Centrals consistently exposed Norwood on larger ovals, with easy victories at Adelaide Oval, Playford Alive Oval and AAMI Stadium. They strangled Norwood's attack while kicking enough to win these three games. The one major issue coming from Centrals trial form is defence, with goals coming through very easy at times, and this will have to be addressed to prevent a repeat on Saturday night. Centrals have the forward line potency to kick a winning score, it's a matter of whether the defence will hold up.
At home, under lights, and for premiership points. Centrals will step up and win this one by 36 points.

Central have hardly lost a game at home this century, i can't see it changing this week, Central by 4 or 5 goals

I'd like to think Norwood could play bait better this week but I don't think it will be enough to get the win. As always afl selection will make a difference so I'll wait to see the teams to make a final selection.

Re: Central v Norwood at Elizabeth
I see this clash as a barometer for Norwood in 2012. A win or close result augurs well.
A sizable loss here and it’s back to the drawing board for a decent forward plan and a long season.
If the Redleg generals have secretly been working on effective goal scoring entries, that will make
our forwards as potent as our defence, then it’s happy days ahead.
Always the optimist - Norwood by 5 or 6 goals.

Judging by what I have seen in pre-season, Norwood are not ready to win this game. We have too many players foreign to each other and it will take some time to bond. Also, it doesn't appear as though much has been done to repair an ailing game plan from last season.
I dearly hope I'm wrong, but if Central don't win this one, they're not being serious.

Looking forward to seeing the odds on this one. I'll take Centrals at $2 or Norwood at anything over $3.50. Chances are the bookies will have Centrals at about $1.70, so no bet for me.

history says $1.70 is a great bet, i think they'll be more like 1/2 ($1.50)

AH, she (CF) did record that song but before that it is one of the songs in the MARX BROTHERS film ''a night in casablanca''....not their best film but i enjoyed it, not long into the film HARPO is leaning on a building a cop comes up & says to him ''move along'' HARPO shakes his head NO & the cop says ''what do you think your doing holding up the building or something ?" HARPO smiling nods YES, the cop pulls him away from the building & yes the building collapses

Centrals are $1.98 and Norwood are favourites at $1.82. Fascinating. Just got home from the pub so I'll wait until tomorrow to have a think about this.bayman wrote:Captain Centrals wrote:Looking forward to seeing the odds on this one. Stuff the bookies ‘CC’, I hope the Legs flog the Dogs, no doubt you hope the opposite.
Let’s just have fun, have a few pies and snags, buy a few rounds, and hope all the bookies go home busted !
That's what I call a good investment !
