where are Norwood at ?
given below the list Scrappy has posted elsewhere & i've borrowed it for this thread (see below)
i'm asking these questions
rumours were rife that Norwood were going to lose a lot of players, some with reasonable or understandable decisions & others a surprise (to me)
so they dismiss the coach & get another one in & these players still decide to leave, i'm sorry but i smell a rat here something isn't right, i've seen enough of this at Glenelg so what is happening off field ?
Norwood INS
Lever
Shenton
Terlich
Norwood OUTS
Auciello
Cachia
Chippendale
Cross
Donohue
Derham
Ferreira
Iannucci
Llewellyn
Persinos
Peter
Phillips ?
Stewart
OTHER OUTS THAT PLAYED 2016
Mitchell
Sucking
Any other in and outs ?

Is Shenton officially announced?

Sounds like a refresh of the list to me.
I'd think they'll recruit well.

i would have thought selective recruiting & given their reserves which most are pretty young a decent go would be the way forward, if they 'just recruit' then this to me looks like they aren't worried about blooding these kids for the future

I'm not sure specifically what you're alluding to by way of "smelling a rat" but I don't believe (at least to the extent of information I'm privy to) that there is anything sinister at play. Of the outs, Cachia, Chippendale, Suckling, Ferreira, Donohue & Persinos are the most recognisable, and it's really only the first two that provided anything of substance in the previous season. 3 of them moved for career opportunity, 1 for relationship reasons, 1 who's body isn't up to SANFL demand and 1 for opportunity elsewhere.
The other names mentioned are either up and comers or fringe players, some of whom have retired from SANFL purely because of the required training loads and non-commensurate remuneration, whilst trying to study or follow career paths.
Whilst I could be wrong, I don't see anything untoward here. Simply a case of an era has come to an end and that means changes to personnel (on and off field) for various reasons.

It'll be interesting to see if Terlich can have the same impact as he did under Bassett, assuming they don't use him as the defensive sweeper.
Shenton was consistently in the best players at VFL level but wasn't given many chances at AFL level. They seemed to make their mind up about him and ignore his good form.

Think Shents would be a pretty handy SANFL player if we can sign him.
Interesting comments about Terlich given my mail is he was FAR from one of said coaches favourite players.

i could be comparing oranges & apples, i'm comparing what we know (obviously we wouldn't know the inside stuff) to what i've seen in the past at Glenelg.....i suppose time will tell, i'll say this though if my comparisons are accurate Norwood will have a rocky (no pun intended) season this upcoming season
Scrunch, if the rumours are true & i believe they are why is Simon Phillips leaving Norwood or at least talking to other clubs ? i believe its West or South & he's had an operation that makes his shoulder popping days almost certain to be over

Re: where are Norwood at ?
Thanks Scrunch, he definitely did speak to other clubs though, good for him & players in general to be one club players

Yeah I know he did, fair enough for any player to have a look around and see what they are worth given the sacrifices they make I suppose. Happens regularly too that the player might just be trying to strengthen their hand with their original club. Not sure in this instance, but I think most Norwood supporters would be relieved at Simon's decision.

Yes don't disagree with that, although that goes for any player

Re: where are Norwood at ?
Simon Flipper Phillips will stay at Norwood [And a chance to play in Flag NO 31]
Flipper by staying at the club now becomes a Life member
Cam Shenton has now officially signed on
Be interested to see what hairdo for this season
Brad Mckenzie [Sturt then North Melbourne] now a redleg in 2017
Is there a reason why he is at the Parade and not Unley ?
