Tuesday 24th March 2015 June Roache appointed to SA Football Commission

The SANFL is pleased to announce the appointment of June Roache to the SA Football Commission. Ms Roache’s appointment was confirmed at this morning’s Commission meeting. She replaces Philip Duval, who recently retired after serving for four years, and becomes the first female Commissioner in its history. June was Chief Executive of SA Lotteries for some 20 years until 2014 and serves on a number of boards including the South Australian Health & Medical Research Institute, ForestrySA and the Essential Services Commission of SA and is Chair of the Adelaide Football Club’s Professional Standards and Integrity Committee. She is also a former long-serving Board Member of Business SA, has chaired the Asia Pacific Lottery Association and was until recently the Vice President of the World Lottery Association. She is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, CPA Australia and the Australian Institute of Management.

“South Australian football is very fortunate to have secured the services of June Roache,” SA Football Commission Chairman John Olsen said. “The SANFL invests significantly in its diversity and inclusion programs and it’s only right that this commitment is reflected with representation at the highest levels of our organisation,” he said. “June will bring tremendous business acumen, experience in managing a large organisation, a deep understanding of professional sport and a valuable perspective and we are delighted to welcome her to the Commission.” Ms Roache will commence her role at April’s Commission
