Buying a car Empty Buying a car

Post by Lee Sat May 25, 2013 5:07 am

My old car expired, so it's time next week for a new one,

Looking at a 4 cylinder hatch and tending towards a Corolla, fairly low kms. Other possibilities are the Hyundai I 30.

Any thoughts, advice or other good possibilities?

Around 2 years ago we purchased a Golf for the wife. I have a fully maintained company vehicle so this is "our" car. We both love it to bits.

Obviously the purchase price is a little higher by comparison but if you are looking into the 15-20k bracket, do yourself a favour and at least seek out a 4-5 year old 60-80,000km Golf.

Not only will you feel the difference in quality, you just might fall in love with it.

I have no problems with the Carolla or Hyundai, even the Ford Focus. But make sure you test drive a Golf.....

I may have mentioned it before, but I'm really keen by the new look Nissan Pulsar, now that they've made a hatchback.

I guess I can say the Pulsar has been the steady car in my family. We've had them since the beginning of time.

Thanks for the advice, gents, much appreciated.

Liked ther Golf, Booney, but finished up buying a Toyota Corolla Hatch 2010 Automatic, only done 19,000 kms.

Like it.

Glad you didn't go with the i30. Reasonably comfy, but completely gutless.
