Eastern block countries used to get vilified by 'us' & 40 years later when the world should be more intelligent we get this, hopefully it wont be as bad as indicated but it doesn't look like it & one on drugs/steroids etc is one too many.............Dale Lewis was right all those years ago & he was made to look stupid

Firstly, let me say that Sport in Australia is not in a good place with all of this.
Whilst it obviously goes beyond the AFL into NRL, the big business of these codes has brought with it a whole raft of pressures for clubs seeking to gain that extra margin.
Mr Demetriou has now voiced his distaste for all these new breed of sports scientists. Good on you Andy. And his headline today to drug cheats that they will be caught. Good on you again.
Betting is now suspended on Essendon's round 1 game and you can't bet on the final ladder.
However, I can't help but be interested in watching him squirm as each new revelation hits the media in all of this.
So now to all these new somewhat swift and draconian measures clubs will now face before players can have "supplements" amongst other things.
From here on if we are going to be forced to listen to King Andy preach 'goodness' from his soapbox, I will throw up.
The simple truth for me is that he has presided over an era where all of this has been allowed to take place and freely admitted that they have been complacent. He cannot hide from that responsibility and the legacy that this will bring to the game.

There's a loophole in every system. It's up to the rulemakers to find them and close them.
Not that I'm condoning what anyone here has done. But I think it should ring alarm bells for an organisation who for the past x years has preached that they control everything with an iron fist. Not so, it seems.

Well, when you have a 3 strikes and your out rule in the AFL it just went to show me that they weren't serious.
