Are all SAAFL Media Partners fully confirmed for 2013 or is one in doubt?

My old club Ovingham are celebrating their 100th year after being formed in 1913. They were originally called Ovingham Methodist and are having a reunion for all that played, coached or being a volunteer for the club on Saturday 3rd August at Cane Reserve, Churchill Rd following the last game of the season which starts at 12.15pm...
I played about 80 - 90 games (not quite sure but there abouts) during the 80's and coached for a couple of seasons.
Hope they have a good day, unfortunately i can't attend as i have commitments with West Adelaide on that day.

Go you cats. Smile

Is there more of a story than meets the eye about a recent sacking of a coach in the SAAFL?

they tell me there is a ''grudge'' match this weekend between Flinders Park & Golden Grove.....apparently when they last met Golden Grove won by about 10 goals & had the points stripped off them because they played 2 players that played the night before for Adelaide in the SANFL, namely Castree & Stent, apparently the crows told them they were right to play as there is nothing in the rules stopping them from playing (not that it is a crows decision, must be a SAAFL decision), the lawyers of Golden Grove agreed that they were allowed to play by the rules of the league but the SAAFL in their wisdom decided it was wrong the day after the match..................i ask this if a player was a fireman, ambulance officer or cop & played a match for their respective occupation as we know happens, would those players & their clubs be penalised as well ?

out of curiosity, does anyone know whether Amateur league players have insurance for injuries to cover loss of income when injured & can't go to work because of any injuries ?

Top of my head I would say no. They aren't employees so aren't covered by Workcover and I think taking out some sort of Income Protection Insurance for every player would be too expensive for most clubs.
I know one club doesn't even have ambulance insurance so a player who got taken to hospital woke up to a $700 bill.
