This one for Harpo
The 4th Marx brother was born
Milton Marx, or goes by the nickname of Gummo Marx , was born in New York
Unlike his brother Groucho, Gummo was married once and once only !!!

Re: On this day in history...
At a well attended meeting of the South . Australian Trotting Club last week, the chairman (Mr. A. Frances) reported that arrangements had been mado for the inauguration1* of night trotting in South Australia. The Jubilee .Oval has been secured for three trotting race meetings, to bo hold in November. Tho opening night would be on Saturday, No- vember 6, second night on Saturday, November 13 , and tho third night on Friday, November 19. It was decided to give Ü100 in stakes for the first night, several members spoke on the above matter, and liberal donations were '(says a local paper) promised, and a large number of applications for membership were received. The opinion was freely expressed that night trotting would be a great success.

He went for a swim on this day in 1967
And no one has claimed to have seen him ever since

is that the guy that predicted the tidal wave at Glenelg ? if it was i remember being there as a kid, there were people everywhere & a lot had surf boards with them, my brother got the Premiers autograph that day (Don Dunstan)...from memory a lot of people believed him because they went interstate, some to Murray Bridge & other hills locations in the lead up to it.....perhaps Nash was a Mayan !!!

I remember that day well.. Don Dunstan having a glass of wine on the Glenelg jetty waiting for the big tidal wave to come in.. i was at Gepps Cross getting my car serviced at the time and the amount of traffic heading North out of the city was unbelievable, cars with trailers, caravans, boats, you name it, they were leaving town.
Some i believe even sold their houses (cheap) before the big event.

Bayman , correct
I was a teenager working as a Brickies labourer on that day
Never ever crossed my mind that John Nash could be right

It was not John Nash the South Australian batsman , who was also a Norwood Footballer
Nor was it John Nash the singer, who had a hit in the 70s called 'I Can See Clearly Now'

If it happened today , our houses would rise in value, both of our dwellings closer to the ocean !
