Can accept it from a player but not a former player who is now commentating. Immediately gives the impression that he is biassed and I thought it came through in his commentary.

you'll never get it from a current day player for obvious reasons, i was at the game so i didn't hear it so i will watch the replay on Thursday & let you know what i thought, but i will say that we don't want robots commentating & making comments as it will be too boring

I agree with RIG. I watched the game on replay, and I thought his comments were a bit off centre especially when there was a decision that favoured the Roosters - he wasn't about to say that it was deserved. Most other commentators I have seen seem more balanced

Superb performance from the Eagles on the SANFL site, cramming in 3 mistakes in one twitter sentence:
EAGLES_WWTFC Angus Poole has excepted a 2 week ban for a striking charge, while and Nick Salter has excepted a reprimand

Significant improvement in the Eagles tweets to the SANFL site, down to just one mistake in today's tweet:
EAGLES_WWTFC Suspension & injury will force changers to the Eagles side this week V's Glenelg @ Maughan Thiem Hyundai Oval, who do u think will come in?

Well techincally maybe 2 errors if I am being picky.
My mother (God rest her soul) was an upper primary school teacher.
She was also a Grammar Nazi and would be turning 1000 times a day in her grave with the version of Pigeon English proffered on Facebook, SMS, Twitter etc. and now our ordinary written language.
I cringe at the way some journos structure their sentences. Sometimes the intent becomes meaningless.
Will the day come when Universities and Schools allow students to write an essay in a 1000 word "Tweet-speak" instead of ordinary 5000 word grammar?

I'm with you all the way on this, Chambo and F9.
The worst thing is that those who love the English language are often dismissed as pedants, especially on forums.
We all make mistakes, but some are just inexcusable at a professional level.

I guess someone at the Eagles can't spell and someone at Westies can't add up.

Some genius from Phil Harper at the Crows, in this excerpt from the Advertiser article:
""But we're going to have to win seven or eight out of 10 and you can't do that without putting wins together.''

Who would some of those annoying voices belong to, waddyamean?waddayamean wrote:It isn't already ? Some are terrible. Listening to MMM the other day and Blakey was having a crack at a TV presenter for his annoying voice. We do have some very annoying voices. I am not saying I don't appreciate the coverage, I am not saying I can do better etc etc.

Three days out from the next round and the SANFL site still has last week's fixture showing, not this week's.
And their premiership ladder is incorrect.

I find the whole thing pretty ordinary and hardly ever look at it.

Some phonetic spelling from Zac Milbank in his piece on Ruory Kirkby on the SANFL site.
"I was also pretty light and pretty roar while trying to learn everything as quick as you can."

interesting last few weeks on abc, neil cross seems to be away, so the setup has changed. chris kendall hosting, kim morgan calling each week and a few different boundary riders. hasnt been too bad.

Neil is away on holiday so yes, CK is getting an opportunity to host the coverage. I've enjoyed James Gallagher in the Special Comments role in the past while Rocket Rod Campbell is very good as well. The Hatchet wrote:interesting last few weeks on abc, neil cross seems to be away, so the setup has changed. chris kendall hosting, kim morgan calling each week and a few different boundary riders. hasnt been too bad.

He'll be back on RPH a bit more when Neil Cross is back from his break. Kym is a good caller, agreed.waddayamean wrote:Morgan is good ,I hope we can hear a bit more of him to improve radio and TV calls.
What suggestions would you have to improve the coverage more?
