Can any of the Eagles fans assist nme, please?

In either 1984 or 1985, Blighty kicked a bag of goals in each of 3 matches against West.

Does anyone have any details?

I can't remember the order in which he kicked them but i reckon it was 8, 14 and 11. The 14 was no points kicked i think. John Cahill who was coaching West at the time said he'd find a place for Blighty up forward as he'd already been hinting at retiring

Thanks Gazza for that and welcome.

It was a pretty reasonable effort, wasn't it?

126 for the year and kicked 4 or 5 against WA in Perth i think too. Cannot recall his Magarey votes but Woodville finished bottom so that was always going to make it difficult

The first game I took my now wife to was Westies/Woodville in 1984, at Woodville oval...Blighty won the game "off his own boot". Not a happy day in particular, but it did have a good outcome overall!! Very Happy

Just off Blighty for a moment but still on Woody v West, there was a game at Woody Oval in 1987 I think.
Nichols had 10 at half time and finished with 13 and Woodhall kicked 11 for Westies

Gazza, I've mentioned that game in my book to be published soon. I think Woodhall went off injured in the last quarter. The final scores were something like 23.11 to 22.14.

Good luck with your publication Lee. I was there and it was real end to end stuff. Would not happen in the game today. Of course we had the grinding games too but it really was more free flowing back then and every team
seemed to have a gun forward or half forward

1987
WV 7-2...14-3...17-9...23-11
WA 7-2...13-5...17-11..22-14

Amazing game looking at the  scores
The BIGgest margin at any break was 4 points at half time

Lee is it too late to put in your book that I once barracked for WA in the 1960s ?
