Chances for 2020 - Glenelg Empty Chances for 2020 - Glenelg

You could only admire the way the Bays went about it in 2019. They looked a hard, tough side, coached by a hard, tough coach, with plenty of talent across the field.

A lot of that talent has left. Jesse White gave them a winning ruck, the best half of their defence is gone with Curran, Gould and Joseph leaving, while Close and Scott will be missed. Josh Koster reduces the depth.

Normally that would just about see an inevitable drop, but Billy Stretch and Matt Allan will ameliorate that somewhat, added to some further depth. I can't see that being sufficient to make a title defence less difficult, so a comfortable finals spot, but not the big prize is my best guess.

A pretty fair assessment. The biggest loss may be White as we do not have a ready replacement to step up.
Virgin can step into Joseph's role and Stretch can replace close. Finding big talented key position players is always difficult so covering for Gould, Curran and Scott is tricky.

Should make finals but a repeat may be a step too far.
