Ok, you've got me with Hawthorne, no recollection at all.

Argh, how did I miss Wilbur in my list?? What a player - In the air or on the ground he was brilliant and as entertaining as anyone I've seen in my time.

The title is something of a misnomer when referring to opposition players.
Maybe "Favourite" = players who inflicted the biggest pain to your side.

However, there are a few opposition players I really did like to watch and admire (but only when they weren't playing the Bluebaggers).

Central:
I liked Dean Mobbs - even if he ended up with a plasticine nose! How many times did he break it?
Platten was pretty useful too.  Wink

Glenelg
Always admired Peter Super Carey.
A nice bloke who with a build likek that should never have played 400odd games, let alone as many effective ones as he did.

Norwood
The old TWO-EIGHT John Wynne was just about the coolest dude who pulled on a jumper. Had a mesmerising enigma about him. Didn't like him much in the 78 GF - say no more!

North
Unfortunately I was too young to see the obvious choice before his injury. John Riley was always very consistent at half back. As a physicist he probably could read the parabolic arc of the ball better than everyone else.

South
Mark Naley was always insufferably good, before and after his Carlton experience.

Port
Watched Ebert do some amazing things on a footy field. Always played like time was at half speed. Had all the skills. In the days of free flowing footy, his duels with Baggy were always worth the entry fee.

Always admired what Scott Hodges did for Port. Not as many goals as Tim Evans, but he was a big game player and anyone who can beat Jumbo's goalkicking record is a worthy contender.

West Torrens
Freddy Bills was a great servant of the Eagles over 300 games.
Seemed to embody the battling club though the 70s.

Woodville
Blighty was a pretty special sort of player befpore, during and after his North Melbourne days. Nearly got the Peckers (Warriors then) into a GF. That would have been a Cinderella story for a club with not much success up to that point.

WWT Eagles
Mark Mckenzie was another difficult opponent. 5 B&Fs in 7 years shows his wirth to the club. Very difficult to get past him.

West
In a very similar vein Ryan Ferguson made life painful for the Blues forwards. Was another very useful and highly regarded servant of his club.

Roger Luders was also always exciting to watch.[/b][/b][/b][/b]

I can tell you their names were Kevin and Trevor, one was a rover, the other a tall utility. Neither would have played many games I'd have thought.
