The new RAH

Anyone had any issues with the new RAH.
I was at school Monday got a call at 8.52 am to be told your on a 12 month waiting list
Can you come in Tuesday at 11.30 am yep sure .
Now me being me I caught an early bus walking across the tram line out the front
My phone goes off unlisted number or no id then this Indian voice who doesn’t talk English well tells me sorry your appointment is cancelled.
Said no I’m at the hospital now no we aren’t having the clinic . Yes you are you called me yesterday no we aren’t having the clinic will you come in Tuesday next week .No I named the person who dragged me out of class to answer the call
No clinic today I said ok next Tuesday at 11.30 but if I’m called again and it’s cancelled I will get the hospital head and get you fired !!

Tuesday at 10.45 cancelled
I asked who pays me the money I’ve wasted today no answer .
I know I shouldn’t have gone off .
But Monday 8.52 am Tuesday 10.45 to cancell my 11.30 appointment
Why the big difference and why employ ethnic minority’s who don’t speak English to give bad news

My thoughts on the new RAH after a visit there yesterday...car parking, no problems, i parked in Bonython park for free and had a 10 minute walk to the hospital. Walked in through the main entrance which is actually on level 3.. found a little blue machine where i zapped a bar code attached to my appointment letter, it then asked me for my mobile number and wait for a text to tell me where i have to go, about a minute later a text came through telling me to go to waiting room 3 1 e or something like that, so i went to that waiting room and booked in, then told to sit and wait for another text message that will tell me to go to another waiting room. After about 15 minutes i received that text message to move to anther waiting room to see my specialist,( Lot's of phones receiving text messages) after waiting for an hour i thought something was wrong so i inquired as to why i'm waiting so long to see my specialist with others coming in after me and going in before me...the lady behind a counter in that waiting room checked and said sorry, there's been a mistake, we have accidentally booked you in through outpatients, you can't see your normal specialist today. I was getting a bit fired up at that stage and ended up seeing some one else in matter of minutes after complaining.
All i wanted was a result of a blood test and to see if i need further treatment.

At the end of the day, it's a nice looking hospital, but to have to go from waiting room to waiting room is like watching a Seinfeld episode.

I prefer to go to my specialist room and say to the receptionist, 'Hello i'm here for my appointment', with a reply, 'Ok, take a seat it won't be long'.

Yesterday a week after being told on the phone I had an appointment get there phone call no appointment come back on the third of October at 11.30
I walk in follow a 7 min walk from my bus stop
Follow the signs catch the lift arrive at a closed door worker tells me follow the dark path door is open
Off I go there’s no sign saying neurology I found a desk
Wrong desk taken back to the right desk no appointment
Admittedly I lost it they said maybe a doctor could see me i said if not I’ll talk to the department head and get someone fired
Worked got me an appointment I did ask my GP to see a private specialist she refused referred me to the RAH .
Basically this head doctor told me everything I already knew and then the total oppersite of what the forensic neurosurgeon told me . So yesterday’s told me he refused to talk Legal I said that’s fine he went through my doctors referral and basically said everything will recover excluding smell taste and hearing .
Everything else from my injury too bad he contradicted every other specialist I’ve seen told me my injuries are not a legal issue go back to work even though he admitted I can’t do the same manual work he said go back do a different job for your employer. Simple he said you can’t do nothing you can’t sit at home your injury is not a legal injury .
So the not legal injury my employer and their insurer are
Still taking me to the industrial court and have stated 2 things me not working I’m costing them money and I can’t return if I’m not 100 percent I’m a liability
What did I learn yesterday
The NeW rah has issues
Because I made a scene they rushed me in put others behind and rushed me out
I wasn’t the only one different department a young lady was turned away for a third time with a letter saying she had an appointment
Me I would have preferred a private doctor been seen 12 months ago . Yesterday total waste of time no help with the pain head spins I still get of course no more taste or smell ever .
Yet this specialist said that’s it go to work do something
All good but if I tell an employer I’ve had a brain injury no job
And a month ago a private specialist for my court case says I can’t work
So waste of my time
I’ll keep studying until something is worked out
New hospital waste of time and too many teething issues

God I sound bitter all good
Just don’t get it your called up you have an appointment then told twice no you don’t why the phone calls .
