Are Adelaide the Real Deal? Empty Are Adelaide the Real Deal?

Post by bayman Sun Apr 30, 2017 6:19 pm

I don't watch much afl football but they look very very good today against a previously unbeaten team, so I'm asking are they the Real Deal?

I would say yes they are

Certainly seem to be at the moment. They have a few key players without obvious replacements and would struggle if Jacobs, Sloane or Talia went out for an extended period.
Apart from that they look very good. Multiple goal scoring options, a flexible backline that works well together and a midfield that has a nice combination of grunt and pace.

They could easily finish top 2, have 2 home finals and then the Grannie at the G.

Over the last month if that is anything to go by, the Crows will be very lucky to be in the top 4 by the end of August, they do not have the grunt to be a top 3 contender.

after watching most of it tonight i'd have to agree, its easy to dominate when things go your way but when they don't go your way you should at least fight hard at every contest, this i don't think Adelaide did that well tonight & that has nothing to do with where the game was played, perhaps after all they are just front runners !!!!

They seem to be turning into the 2016 North Melbourne. fast out of the blocks but when the other teams have worked out how to stop them they have no plan B.

They've surprised me as I had Swans, Cats and GWS pegged higher.

Maybe need to revisit this question?

When the momentum started to shift in the second quarter, you could almost see the heads drop. Many passengers.

Agreed Chambo & in hindsight Richmond had smashed all their opponents during the finals.....happy for Damien Hardwick for a couple of reasons one was they almost sacked him & he proved his doubters wrong & secondly when at Hawthorn he encouraged players to come to Glenelg, the two standouts were Ben Kane & Ruory Kirkby, any person that would do that for my team has my full support & respect as he only spent "5 minutes" at the bay & put in 110% every time

Adelaide are definitely the real deal. Yesterday was an awful day to play your worst football for the year though.

Worse football of the year or did Richmond play a very smart game of basically giving them no room to run whatsoever?

As short as his speech was, he still spoke for longer after the game than he had the ball in his hands during the game.

It was fine - congratulated Richmond, apologised to the fans, and moved on. Did what he had to do and then allowed the Richmond celebrations to get into full swing.  Only way that could come across as a 'sore loser' is if you have an agenda, or vendetta, against the club or person involved. Even Fox Sports are getting hammered on social media by making a bigger deal out of it that it really needs to be.

I don't really see the need for the losing captain to come up and make a speech to be honest.  They've just lost a Grand Final and emotions would be pretty raw for the team, particularly the captain.

Bit of both really. Richmond played outstanding and shut Adelaide right down, which resulted in Adelaide playing it's worse football of the year as they didn't respond.

I thought Malcolm Blight probably nailed it when interviewed pre-game.

Basically said that whichever side can play their own game first and keep their temperament would win.

It may sound obvious, but in GFs how many blow outs occur because one side panics and doesn't stay with the game plan that got them there?

Adelaide has more fans, but Port will always have an edge over the Crows.
