Re: Rumour File
They got pinged once & got a “reprimand” for changing their vote, however I’d suggest they have freed up money from retirements & those that have been drafted over the last few years, like Glenelg they’ve had a heap drafted in recent years

Re: Rumour File
Players drafted don't usually free up much money under the cap because they're usually kids not on big contracts at all.

In Norwoods case, they’ve had several premiership players drafted over the years, Shelton, Grigg are two that spring immediately to mind, hardly kids

Not sure what your saying there Bayman but Grigg was drafted in 2011 as a 18yo.bayman wrote:In Norwoods case, they’ve had several premiership players drafted over the years, Shelton, Grigg are two that spring immediately to mind, hardly kids

I can see what Bayman is alluding to
Salary cap issues aside
Norwood, have certainly been an active recruiting club , in the last decade or so
The reason Norwood needs to recruit, is that they have lost a lot of players to the AFL , or for whatever reasons
It makes sense to recruit to cover the departures
It would be interesting to see how many players from each SANFL has lost players in the AFL draft ?
Ive got a feeling that Woodville West Torrens lost the most going back about 20 years
I reckon Norwood has supplied the most in the last ten years or so , a fair few from the Basset era

Coincidently Scappy I was just reading in the Messenger some stats.

Glenelg – 28
Sturt, North Adelaide – 26
Woodville-West Torrens – 24
West Adelaide – 21
Port Adelaide – 14
Central District – 11
South Adelaide – 6

From a performance basis, you need to average that out over the numbers in each club's zone.
For example, until recently, Norwood's zone had more than 25% extra players than the smallest zone, West Adelaide.

I haven’t read the article but to me this is fine, if it was next June or July then I’d be having a problem with it
Hopefully it isn’t Adelaide or the Power reserves he goes too

Re: Rumour File
I think this is the biggest rub of all in terms of the Crows and Power being in the sanfl.
Aside from the many other issues of inequity, the way they can pillage the 8 clubs of any half way decent young player (or even not so young) to effectively top up their reserves, really p!sses me off.

Seeing last night answering some other posters posts I upset Goddy11 for not putting my answer to their posts in the rumour file here you go again .
Rumours are about Jordan Foote has signed with the Eagles .
And friends of the WWTFC tweeted yesterday that there is a Foote in the door .

Just got another rumour
Round One Eagles v North at Woodville
Last minor round Eagles v North prospect
It would be a really rough game hopefully the fans are well behaved .
Round 1 would be bone crunching if it's right
