Some observations

The top 5:

1 Grand Canyon
Truly an act of God. Simply breathtaking in its magnitude.
Should be on everyone's bucket list

2 New York creations - just its awesomeness
Empire State Building (cost $26M) and they did better than 2 floors a week.
Built in less than a year and a month ahead of schedule.
One World Trade Centre / Memorial Pools - a sombre yet spectacular place.

3 Golden Gate Bridge
To build it in such treacherous water - the currents an travel at 60kmh! 11 deaths still. They revolutionised OHS procedures as part of this construction program.

3 Central Park
An oasis in a concrete jungle. Rode around it. The New Yorkers' sanity check.

4 Harry Potter world - Universal Studios
A re-creation of the famous movie sets. Castle, Hogsmeade Village etc.
For HP fans only, but very well done.

5 San Francisco in general
Same size as Adelaide squeezed into 100sq km. That is land bounded by Cross Rd, Hills Face, Grand Junction Rd and St Vincent Gulf.
And it is hilly - understatement of the year!
But architecturally very coordinated and interesting. Generally 3 to 4 story terrace houses everywhere.
Similar in age to Adelaide (about 10 years younger - 1846)

The bottom 5 (starting at the worst)

1 The black swill they call Coffee
Don't do it! Resist!
Trump should make it his first order of business to legislate the abolition of what they call coffee.
There are however, a few enlightened places where you can get a good Espresso, Latte or Cappucino - Not many, but it is possible.

2 Signage
It is woeful. If there is a sign it is generally ambiguous, misleading or badly placed.
Often there is an attendant to direct you instead. Cost of a sign v attendant?
There are EXIT signs that you cannnot exit from, instead you're supposed to understand that a STAIR sign means that is the way out.

3 The unofficial class system
Truly I don't know what Trump is fussing about.
95% (no exaggeration) of service attendant staff are non-caucasian Americans.
IE Waiters, Drivers, Concierges, Tour Attendants.
We had Russian Concierges, Pakistani Hotel attendants, Mexican Waiters, Greek Drivers, African American attendants among other asian attendants too.
Maybe no caucasian Americans want to do these jobs. Or are these minority/ethnic groups willing to work for less dollars? I don't doubt that some wouldn't be making their minimum $US7.25 wage.

All of these people were friendly, attentive and helpful where they could be.
But the system that creates this class system is not quite right. Hard to see Trump wanting to change it though. America the land of the free and opportunity. But only to some.......

4 Super-sized Food
Portion control is not a phrase in the US vocabulary. Particularly in LA and Vegas.
There is an addiction to fat, carbs and sugar. And then they supersize it.
And you get stuff that is not on the menu list with it.
Nothing new here. An often stated fact.

5 Beggars
This is not to decry the obvious problems that people in big cities have who are in this situation. But you get the impression that it has become almost a cottage industry.
There are people sleeping out in every street (which happens in Melbourne and Sydney and here too). But some seem a bit over the top (dressed in the latest gear, phones, headsets etc) with a sign saying "Hungry".
! was asked 4 times for busfare by lady outside Disneyland. And there were another half a dozen similar people in the same vicinity. It's a problem no doubt at all.
But the system surrounding this begging just seems a little false in many cases.
