Stumps day 2

AU 3/551 DEC
BURNS 128
KHAWAJA 144
SMITH 134 NOT OUT
VOGES 106 NOT OUT

WI 6/91

Smith ton means Warner the only top 5 batter not to make a ton + this series
Australia extremely likely to be 2-0 up in the series
Smiths captaincy is an issue this series
He must be stressed out , when to declare and if to enforce follow ons

AU 3/551 DEC
WI 271
AU 3/179 DEC
WI 282

6/730 v 20/553

How about this
Jamie Warrican now averages 44 in Test cricket , and batted 11 this test

MAN OF THE MATCH AWARD
Lyon 4/66 + 3/85
Steve Starmith 134 not out + 70 not out

Nathan Lyon won the award
7/151 v 204 not out
But should Steve Starmith have got the award ?

Normally you would think 134 & 70 Not Out would win but I like that Lyon won MOTM. Give that 4 Australians scored centuries you could say that none of them by itself was significant. Lyon got 2 caught and bowled and took more wickets then the entire WI bowling attack.

Will wicket keeper Peter Nevill get a hit this series ?

Adam Gilchrist and Brad Haddin batted in every test series they played in

Will the tail get a hit ?
Best chance might be to come in as a night watchman !

why are they playing ''silly buggers'' ?

on a side note i think it is disgraceful that corporate bookies overnight have urged for a manufactured result because of a heavy loss if a draw indeed happens as they put money into sponsorships, to me that is as much manipulating a result as anything else that has happened in the past

WI 330
AU 2/176

It has been reported that Steve Smith made an appROACH to Jason Holder to set up a series of declarations on day 5
Steve Smith says this
" They would have had to declare this morning, I would have declared 0/0 and then bowled lob ups for 7 or 8 overs [until they had a lead of 370.]"
The logic being that a target of about 370 off 70 overs being a 4th innings chase
Jason Holder had words with his mob, and the West Indies declined

Theres enough declarations in 20/20 and 50 over cricket versions to appease
But do we need for this in Test Cricket ?
