Spelly, yesterdays grand final had Norwood winning one quarter (first), Port two quarters (second & third) & a drawn quarter (last)

i know it has happened in home & away matches but has a side won a premiership by winning just one quarter in a grand final ?

There's possibly others; I remember it being asked before...for the record Glenelg won three quarters - none were drawn.

Adrian Settre won the other one (second term from memory)

All pre 1931 and the McIntyre Finals series; the premiership deciders in the following years had a team lose 3 quarters (none drawn as per your request) but still won the match:

North in 1902 (won 2nd)
Norwood in 1904 (won 4th)
West in 1912 (won 3rd)
Sturt in 1919 (won 4th)

1977 is the only other occasion for your request - Glenelg won 1st by 5 points; Port won 2nd by 14 points; level in 3rd; Glenelg won last quarter by one.

As an extra, the last quarter this year was the first time a particular quarter was even in a Grand Final since the 2nd quarter of 1994

thanks spelly, my main question was winning one quarter & winning the match, all other ''stats'' a very interesting bonus, thanks again
