Small piece of good news, Judo is an optional sport in the Commonwealth Games, its played religiously in the Summer Olympic Games but does not always get a start in the Commonwealth games. Personally its my favourite olympic sport with Archery running a close second.

The good thing about the advent of Mixed Martial Arts and UFC and so forth is that people have begun to learn more about the rules of these types of sports and after you watch UFC you begin to see similarities in Sport Judo and how things are done and how different rules are applied and so forth. I think this may be behind the resurgence of interest in Judo as a sport that is the case at present.

Judo matches can be quick and all over in 30 seconds, or it may take several rounds and a winner decided by judges. Its a great sport to watch and I am looking forward to the Commonwealth Games largely because it has been included!
