2013 Brownlow Medal Count
Is already upon us - gee time flies !
Speaking 'odds' wise...
Gary Ablett very short - but will playing in a team that doesn't win too many decrease his chances - even though he is obviously a superstar?
I note with interest that Sam Mitchell's name was thrown around on Thursday nights Footy Show as a strong contender by someone who studies the Brownlow hard every year... he was paying $10 at time of this airing - he's now into $5.50
Anyway...
Who's going to win it?

he was $26.00 on Thursday actually, proven vote getter but how one can study this type of thing to be so close year after year baffles me because how can you get into the head of (in this case) umpires to know what they are thinking ? yes we all make educated guesses on what we see but the record this bloke has (apparently) is beyond just having footy knowledge i would think

Surely Gary Ablett is a shoe in? The GC won a few more games this year.

Joel Selwood to win, from Ablett, Swan. Rory Sloane to surprise and top the Adelaide count, Boak to easily win Port. Ablett's slight issue is that teammates played well in wins, such as Prestia, Bennell and O'Meara.

How would you like a midfield of Ablett, Selwood, Swan and Pendlebury and Stevie J?

well G. Ablett wins & is well deserved but the whole count lasted way too long with way too many adds etc in it & the last round of voting was 'scripted' to have the final vote as the winning vote, regardless of how voting is going they should do it in game order as they do for every other round

Yes the commercials kill the enjoyment.bayman wrote:well G. For the last 2 years I have taped the count , started watching it about a hour behind.
That way I could cut out the commercials , and enjoy it more.
Another midfielder wins ...

Missed the count because of a work meeting, doesn't sound like I missed much though!
Good to see Garry Ablett win, thoroughly deserved. A football player I will be telling my children and grand children about. Certainly the most skillful player I have ever witnessed live.

To the contrary it's the first one I've watched from start to finish...lol.
I enjoyed it - and yes G Ablett superstar certainly deserved to win - good on him.
Oh the only thing was did anyone else see where someone was read out for 2 votes (round 15 I reckon) and he had the camera on him and said 'I didn't even play that week' .... he was dead serious.... controversy?

Just had a look at that bit about 15 times. It was Andrew Swallow from North Melbourne. Got the 3 votes. Couldn't quite work out his first word or 2 but it did end with "in that game" but he definitely played. Had 26 touches.
