Brett Zori only commenced at Norwood around 2005 so he wouldn't qualify for a team from the 1960s to 1990s.

Re: SANFL 1960-1999
North Adelaide from about Late1960s to 1999
Basically from a time I remember players from that team
D.HART.........D.SACHSE.....PARSONS
FRANCOU......LINDNER......D JARMAN
B STRINGER...A JARMAN.....PHILLIPS
J RILEY..........N SASCHE.....JAWORSKI
PAULL...........HAMMOND.....CLOKE
REDDEN
B ROBRAN
VON BERTOUCH
INTERCHANGE
ANTROBUS
J PHILLIPS
R ROBRAN
So many to choose from
Could have also included ,Allan ,Dietrich, Rebbeck, Campbell, Hearl, John Roberts and Sims- and several others
Im not sure if Nick Holland and Ben Hart played enough good games before being AFL drafted, to be considered
If I had a 1960 onwards team, I would have selected Barbary , Gilbourne , and considered Bob Pascoe
I didnt know what position to play Barrie Robran in
Centre and Centre Half forward perhaps, but I chose him as a ruck rover
Imagine seeing Barrie Robran take a high mark, as he is falling back to planet earth , handballs to Darren Jarman
Darren Jarman from 70 metres out dobs a goal

It was tough to leave out Ross Dillon , a good question F10
I consider Ross Dillon as a slightly better CHF than Johnny Wynne
Ross Marshall Matt Dillon was a star VFL forward, and came to Norwood at the end of his playing career
He did play very well in 1975 and ran 3rd, beaten by 2 votes in the Magarey Medal scoring 18 votes
Peter Woite won the medal with 20 votes Peter Marker ran second with 19 votes
I choose Johnny Elbows Two Eight Wynne as he played much longer at the club
Ross Dillon ended up residing in Adelaide
He runs a popular News agency at Norwood
Interesting to note that neither Dillon or Wynne were selected Centre Half Forward in the Norwood team of the century
Neil the bear Button was selected at Centre Half Forward in that team
I had though Button was a better ruckman than a centre half forward
During this post , I have wondered if I could have sneaked Ray Button into the Glenelg team I selected

One of the Seekamps had a news agency from memory
Make James Allan a scratching in my NA extras
Like Brett Zorzi, played after the year 2000

I agree with most of your selections, but no way could I have Darel Hart in front of the Ant. Interestingly in North's team of the century, Antrobus was chosen in front of both Hart and von Bertouch.
The North team of the century is considered by most historians to rank with Port as the strongest team of the century with West a close third. These teams of course are subjective.
I am thrilled that you put Peter Cloke in the team. I don't think that I have ever seen a more courageous high mark. Tommy Hafey, who coached him as a young man, once said that he ranked with Royce Hart as the greatest mark he ever coached.
I was wondering what "rover klller" Maurie Francou or his more skilled brother, Ken were doing in the side, until the penny dropped that it was actually Josh Francou. Where did Josh get his skill from?

FRANCOU
Yes it is Josh Francou!
Josh won a Magarey Medal before having an excellent AFL career
I could have had the Ant in for Daryl Hart , maybe the Ant was a better onballer, but I reckon Hart was maybe better around the goals
JARMANS
Heres a question about the Jarman boys
I reckon Darren was better at AFL level
In the SANFL , does anyone consider Andrew a better player than Darren ?

The Ant was marginally better around goals than Darel Hart. I checked the North past players database and the Ant kicked 174 goals from 96 games at an average of 1.8125 goals per game. Darel Hart kicked 330 goals from 192 games at 1.71875 goals per game.
Many North supporters would think that Andrew was a slightly better and certainly more consistent player than Darren at SANFL level. Darren was more brilliant though. Darren's most consistent year at North was in 1990 when Andrew went to Norwood.

West fans would be mire qualified than I but personally couldn't consider Modra at full forward ahead of Luders. Luders one of the best spearheads Ive ever seen.
You have D Hewitt twice - again open to conjecture but I would replace the bench Hewitt with Adam Richardson.

Well spotted CK
I will leave Daryl Hewitt in the back pocket
For my team balance should I replace him on the interchange with Lleyton Hewitt ?

Re: SANFL 1960-1999
Darryl Hewitt wouldn't be allowed into the ground to watch that team, let alone play in it. Seriously, he was nowhere near the quality of the others named. Tyson Edwards would be a fair way ahead of him.
Also, you couldn't play Geoff Morris on the half-back flank. If he doesn't make it as a half-forward, and fair enough, he wouldn't make it anywhere else. Maybe Loveday in his spot.
McKinnon would take Hewitt's spot on the bench.

I had to put Morris in somewhere
I could not fit him in the forward line, even though he is named at HF in the WA team of the century
Sometimes when selecting sports teams , to squeeze players in, they have to be named out of position
I had listed Morris interchange at one stage, but how do you leave him out of a top 18 ?
As for Daryl Hewitt , I will replace him with Tyson Edwards , who played enough footy at WA to qualify
Robert Loveday is in the WA team of the century so need to find a spot in the team
What about this defence, for discussion purposes
Bear in mind the full back line could be better suited in other positions
LOVEDAY........BRAY...........POPE
EDWARDS....C WILLIAMS... KERLEY
Trevor Hughes was mainly just before my time, didnt see him play much at all , but did buy from his sports shop
He prob should be in a back pocket if i was born earlier
Question for F10
If I select Geoffrey Morris at Half forward, who do I drop Glynn Hewitt or Peter Mueret ?

Re: SANFL 1960-1999
If this is a sanfl 60-99 thread, I am not sure it is valid putting blokes in that didn't play or do enough for their sanfl club opposed to their AFL career.
For that reason I am not sure Modra even makes it. Certainly I would have Luders at FF. What he did at West outstrips Modra in that position. This opens up the forward line to put G Hewitt in a FP and Morris to HF.
I also think Loveday has to be in too at HB in lieu of Morris.
I can have people like McDermott in a Bays team and A Jarman in North team as they played enough good footy in the sanfl.

Scrappy, personally I think both Glynn Hewitt and Meuret were better players than Morris, but Morris gave us far more service than Hewitt and Morris was also an All-Australian, so it's just my opinion.
I loved Trevor Hughes, he was my favourite player as a kid and I had number 24 on the back of my Westies jumper. Not sure if he'd make this sort of quality side though.

Was Doc Clarkson a pioneer of the checkside ruck tactic ?
Tony Burgan missed the cut , however Hicks and Miels were superb wingers
Ive left out Todd Viney, but where could I fit him in ?
I wish I saw John Halbert play, so many accolades said to me by those who saw him play

Much as I loved watching Squire play, he barely sneaks into this team on era criteria - started at Sturt in 1999.
Otherwise, as a neutral who didn't see SANFL pre 1975, this is a pretty sound team for me.

Squizzy was a terrific player at North Adelaide
Debuted for Sturt 1999
He won the Magarey Medal in 1999 and 2000
He just qualifies
Rick Schoff was the only natural left footer I selected
Damien Squire makes it 2

As with most teams Ive had to invent positions to squeeze in the talent available
For example Andrew Taylor was a super forward , and Im not sure Ralph Zip Zap Sewer played wing much at all
Ive listed the tenacious midfielder Kevin Harris in the forward pocket , as a second rover to Ray Huppatz
Woodville had a lot of terrific forwards, I could have slotted Malcolm Blight up forward as well
I could not sneak in another fav footballer of mine in Trevor Pierson who kicked 100+ goals in 1982
I followed Bob Simunsens career as he played cricket for South Australia and attracted my attention
Picking ruckmen was a task
I settled on Craig Mckellar and Max Parker , and had to leave out Romano Negri and Colin Macvicar

Didnt see Neil Hawke or Geoff Kingston play, both had the reputations of being excellent key forwards
Might have been hard for a couple of the key position players to concentrate playing football on Saturdays, the same day the races were on ...
I used to admire West Torrens footballers about as much as any opposition other team
They include
The iconic Freddy Bills
Rocky Roberts
Lindsay Head for his football and harness racing contributions
Ian Wallace who looked more like a rock star
Peter Phillipou
The magicinal Kevin Mcsporran, his skill level was almost Lindsay Headesque
And the inimitable Mulva, he was one of my heroes growing up , and a bonza bloke

Do I Qualify Luke Darcy or Brendan Lade as the second ruckmen ?
Im not sure how well Bob Keddie played , on his VFL form a shoe in to be selected
Others that missed out include Matthew Clarke, Kym Koster, Matty Powell, Wayne Slattery,
Micheal Bennett , Stewie Palmer, David Stoekel and a a few more
I didnt see David Kantilla play at a venue, only on TV [ not soap operas] so I have cheated to include him
Loved watching Peter Jumbo Darley late in his career in the ruck or full forward
Ron Hately was a brilliant winger who I marveled at how many kicks he would get
The player I enjoyed from an exquisite skill level was Graham Robbins
