Ken Cole is based in the US nowadays and has serious ongoing medical issues that would prevent this.

Not sure that going back to Phil Smyth is the right idea either. An experienced coach is certainly needed, though. Someone along the lines of Ian Stacker is what the club needs right now.

Ken Cole was a bit of tongue in cheek given the circumstances with his agricultural activities, hope he pulls through..............as for your other part well i'm sure R&B would remember 1961 & 1983 !!! Wink

For those that attended the Townsville debacle the other week and saw the guy that nailed the shot from half court for $5000, it looks like the club is allegedly not paying out the $5000.

Turns out it stemmed from the fact that the guy did it on his second shot (the first shot was jammed in the rim - IMO he should have got the $5 000 just for that Laughing ), even though it was the court announcer who gave the guy the second shot (the guy assumed he would be shooting from the 3 point line for a consolation prize)

It appears the 36ers, the NBL, and iiNet (the sponsors of the shot) were bickering over whose fault it was the money wasn't paid, but in the end, he has been paid his $5 000.

Either way it's not a good look for the 36ers, the NBL or iiNet.

Another 36ers loss to Townsville - now 4 of Townsville's 5 wins have been against the 36ers.

I strongly suspect that, by this time tomorrow (Sunday), Marty Clarke will no longer be coaching the 36ers. Last night was more of the same old. A travelling team with much more desire and want for the contest, against a home team that looked to be going through the motions again after half time.

Let's hope so.

Nothing seems to change. They look rudderless, dispirited, bereft of ideas and one or two of their key players should be back-up players, not starters.

Watching this one live on NBL.TV at present. Nothing much different from most nights this season. Adelaide have been in touch all night, but starting to fade again - currently down 61-72 with 7 minutes to go in the contest. It almost looks like fitness in many ways, amazingly for this stage of the season.

Looks like the new import is starring, even if it is only his 2nd game.

Two rebounds, a turnover, a foul and one point for Christopherson, albeit it from 13 minutes of game time.
